No, what your doing is trying to find some negative angle on possibly the only positive act of the whole debacle. A rugby league player is alleged to have assaulted a woman, and a league player prevented it from going any further, I'm grateful another professional athlete was there to prevent him from going to town on her face, you should be too.

Good work to the un-named bulldog player. Wouldnt it put the wind up horse head if it were someone like Mason ...

Anyway ... credit where credit is due.

Maybe the player doesn't want to be named.

And the club wouldn't have an issue with a player being out at 3:00am the night before a recovery session. The club has already stated, through it's breath testing regulations, that players can go out and have fun after a game, as long as they don't blow over the generous blood alcohol limit at the recovery session. Basically, after a game is the only night that the players are allowed to head out for a reasonably big night.

Rumour has it that the player was Billy Ngawini (unconfirmed, but as per Channel 7).

And yet he's not in the 1st grade side this weekend! He should get a run for stepping in - not to mention he's a gun!!!

Are you as proud that your 1st grade player was even there at 3am on a Monday morning!?

a) Its lucky the player was there; and
b) I think even footballers are entitled to a life and, at the end of the working week, that includes the opportunity to relax!

Its a good way for the Sharks fans to deflect the attention away from the despicable actions of one of their own....come in here and stir up sh*t about a Bulldogs player performing an honourable act. Well done to whoever it was (Billy by the looks)

Good work to bulldogs player who stepped in, Latu has been sacked by the sharks faces deregistration from NRL, should he be criminially convicted, i am sure then he cant even go to Super League to play, will probably end up in bartercard comp in NZ.

The player whoever it is, who stepped in, i have been advised that he is also a kiwi from the dogs team well done, for saving the young lady.

And for being out at 3am, the team had just had a win, cant won celebrate, and he didnt get in any trouble, what are we going to do next, have all palyers home before midnight after a match, at this rate all matches will have to be in day time so players can get to bed early

Guys you all need to relax, Latu did a dirty thing, so you shark fans should just dis own him like the club and NRL has. You got no reason to be defending him, and you got no reason for attacking a PERSON who happened to be there and stopped him, whether he was a bulldogs player or some thug or crack head of the street, i think any person with some balls and concious would step in and stop it.

This is not a time for shark fans to be defensive cause u have no right, however you should be proud that Latu was sacked as the club has taken the appropriate action.

There is only one Sharks fan who came here trying to criticise the un-named player, the rest seem pretty reasonable and applaud the clubs actions and whoever put a stop to the assault - as do I.

Firstly, recognition must go the way of young Bulldogs tyro Billy Ngawini. He was reportedly the Bulldogs player who attempted to defend 19 year old Brooke Peninton from Latu, and if not for his intervention, worse may have come to the victim. One can only imagine the media frenzy that would have been involved had Latu and Ngawini had swapped places, and the next chapter to the Bulldogs soap opera that would have eventuated.

As long as he's still got the Blue & White on, I'm happy! And I've got no problems with a Kiwi getting some credit!

No wonder Latu stopped punching her - Asotasi is a unit!!!

First of all what gower did not break the law as there were no charges laid and the police did not even recieve as much as a phone call on the subject.
Latu has been charged and the club will probably have to pay damages and loss of pay for the victim.

Secondly , gowers incident happened in his own time in the off season not in the middle of it and not only hours after a game.

Latu is a victim of his own f**kin stupidity.
