more hit ups...7 hit ups in 80 minutes for a game when hes supposed to be fired up is piss poor..30 of those metres came from one run im the first half...interesting to compare those hit ups with someone like Fitzgibbon or luke o donnell..ryan hoffmann..laffranchi
As for the 58 tackles and 10 offloads score 4 tries etc..yer he did that against the roosters last season when they were going like bustedasses...thats easyyyyyyy stuff. He will be a superhero against bottom teams and teams that allow that.Last nite the roosters had his number.

we hardly had the ball though!! SBW still made 130 odd metres,7 offloads and 2 line breaks. He can only do so much with the limited amount of ball we had. Roosters did not have SBW's number last night, he absolutely carved them up breaking the line plenty of times - and Roosters are one of the better sides in the comp this year so its not like he just does stuff against bad teams...he just didn't have a good halfback around him who could lead the team around after a break to capitalise on it. He can't do it all himself. He woulda looked much better if we had of scored off the back of a few of his runs as we should have. We need to trial Groom IMO.

I was at the game and I was watching SBW when the bulldogs had the ball, he stands very wide (ala Pritchard) and rarely comes in looking for work, even Mason came in looking for the ball more than SBW did. I agree that he had quality touches when he had the ball, the problem is he doesn't touch the ball enough.

i'd like to see SBW given a go at lock, preferably while Reni is still in Premier League. I think he might get more involved closer to the action. Thats probably the only downfall in SBW's game when he doesn't go looking for the ball, but with experience I think he'll pick his times better. When he touched the ball he was explosive though, he made a half break pretty much every carry in the first half.

I think its because the Bulldogs dont want to overdo his workload. If Tonga gets enough ball he might find some form. Something the Bulldogs are terrible at is getting their players one on one with the opposition, thats where Willie Tonga is best, its where Sonny Bill is best, its where Reni Maitua and Tim Winitana is best. Ben Roberts is a talent, but he isnt giving the outside backs quality ball, something that a five eight is supposed to do.
