I hear he didn't go to the game and said he would only ever consider going to a Rabbitohs game if it was the Grand Final and they played it in Coffs Harbour.

Also as long as it was kick off at 1:30pm on a Thursday afternoon.

Maybe he should have suggested the prelim be played up there. The Dogs' players would have been excited at the prospect so the club may have agreed.

He should be happy. It was their best year in my lifetime so it must've been the best in his. And they'll be a chance for the next year or two before the cap bites. They're still funny buggers though.

Am I ok? Disappointed yes. Noone wants to lose in a prelim. Heartbreaking to think we were right in it with a good chance until Reynolds hammy went.

I disagree with Skeepe in the game thread, the refs were crap but did not decide the end result. A muscle in the back of Reynolds leg had more influence than they did.

So close yet so far.

Plenty of reasons to feel good about next year. We're losing DT and getting the bloke who replaced him in Origin. Our rookie coach and rookie halfback will have a year of NRL experience under their belt. They both exceeded all expectations and should be better for the run.

GI will have a full preseason training at fullback. Luke looked like a new man since he was let back into the team.

I think we're an absolute top 4 contender next year. So while this year didn't finish the way I wanted it to and 2012 is left with ifs and buts and coulda beens there's plenty to look forward to in 2013 for my club. And before then I hope the Dogs and Storm put on a fantastic show for neutrals.
Who cares, f**k off with the BunniesMan threads
I agree with TT.

Michael Maguire has a lot of work to do with this Souths team, not only defense wise but in attack, when they have the ball in hand all they do is 5 hit ups and then kick(rinse and repeat),they have no forwards offloading,no set moves,no backline plays, this simple game plan won't beat the good teams.

Souths absolutely love throwing the useless inside ball to a player running into 8 defenders,Maguire should ban the inside pass

It beat the Dogs. It went centimetres away from beating the dogs a second time. It looked the goods last night until a hamstring went. So a Farrell dive and a Reynolds hamstring were all that stood between our shit game plan and potentially beating the minor premiers 3 times in a year. It also beat the Cowboys. It also beat the Sharks. It also beat the Raiders.

Good post.

The use of the inside ball should decrease substantially once Sutton is moved into the forwards.

Looking forward to seeing gun Toyota Cup player Luke Keary being promoted to the NRL team next year with a Keary / Reynolds halves combination.

Although early days, he looks to be a better prospect than Adam Reynolds.

Sutton is a excellent ball runner, very powerful man, terrible passing and kicking game,a move to the forwards would be good.

Will Souths be like the Eels of 2005, Penrith of 2010?

They do seem to score a lot of tries off kicks, with a young halfback.

Strong forward pack should see them stay towards the top unlike the aforementioned teams.

In that point HT you are right. Sutton will be in the backrow. Reynolds and Keary should be a more effective partnership. I'm excited for next years trials for Keary to get a chance with the big boys.

We looked great until Reynolds went off and we lost Luke at dummy half. We were dominating with a pressure based game, and when we do get a roll on the offloads come out

When we get into the twenty we do look a bit stumped though, which comes from only having one real play maker. Sutton doesn't add much in that twenty meter zone as he is essentially just a lock

Souths are flat track bullies. They beat up on weaker teams by rolling throught the middle of the park with big forwards and fast play the balls on the back of penalties. Works well against minnows, but not against top 4 teams.

Souths are simply shit. They shouldn't even be in the comp. Hopefully Rupert will come back and finish the job off by kicking them out.
