I thougt Morts was good without being fantastic lastnight and can see where DA is coming from with sticking wit Mortimor at 7 because he will become a great half it will just take time.

I must admit thoug Humble looked real good last night, truely looked like he had been playing first grade for a long with the confidence he showed out on the field. I'd like to watch Humble especially during the Origin period closely because he may well be a bolter for a spot in the halves.

Regarding to what Stags said in another thread in relation to the club not wonting players and how sat night highlighted who some of thoughs players may be with there lack of ergency and intensity throughout the 80 mins highlights how interesting the next 6 months will be with recruitment.

Mortz best skill is to backup and being tough. All his other skillset for being a halfback is below par. Even his kick for touch on a penalty.

It will take time. Let's hope that it is sooner rather than when he is at the end of his contract and the dogs start sniffing again.

Here's an idea, how about the only changes that are made be Hayne & Tahu coming back in at 1 and 4 respectively and if Hindy & Reddy are injured.

How about Humble to 7 and Mortimer to which ever other club wants him.The carry on about re-signing him was ridiculous he's a dead set dud. Also please get rid of Inu for the rest of the season,no heart no commitment replace him with Jono Wright when Tahu,Grothe,Reddy,Burt or Hayne is out. Also Tell Poore to go somewhere else and play his rubbish football, would free-up 300k plus to keep Mateo!

I agree with you, mate ............... except for the bit about Humble to 7 (he`s a dead-set 6); and Poore is getting much better; and I don`t want to keep Mateo; and Inu - whilst he is slow and doesn`t have any football sense at all - is good enough to stay in the team for the rest of the year.
I definitely would like to see more of Wright, though. I think he`ll turn into the Inu we never had. :)

Where`s your imagination? Or have you run out of drugs again? Ask Raudonikis; he`s probably got some.

seriously what with the level of anti-mort sentiment?

while the bloke is probably not a $250k player yet he is still green. like a number of coaches have said, it takes 50-100 games at the top level for a half to find their feet.

apart from his long kicking and passing to put players into gaps (which also means the receivers need to run better lines) their is a lot to like in his game. sure mateo has the skills to create but give mortimer time and let him develop. even scott prince took time to become a dominant 7.

to me he doesn't seem to have the skills of a very good half. Great at backing up the play but down on the other halfback skills. Bit like Robbo.

However, like Big Fella said, could make a goood hooker but I think ala PJ Marsh.
