Burt is an absolute legend of the club. Never whinges, always get out there and does what needs to be done and you never see endless articles about where he may or may not go. Gentleman and great footballer to boot.

Exactly the reason I'd like him to stay and be given the same opportunities as Hindmarsh as a great one club player.

I heard Ossie somewhere the other week, saying something to the effect that there will always be room for the likes of Luke Burt

Oh God i hope so - let him play out his career at Parra. It would break Parra fans hearts everywhere to see him in another jersey (NRL/UK or other)

agree, on the wing too like i've been saying for ages.

Man, even if we beat GC the Bulldogs game will be tough, however a calm come over me whilst at the warriors game this year that suggested that this is our year - never had that feeling before.

It was me overlighting you Ron.....

You've never felt calm before?

No, seriously, I know what you mean. One day at Rosehill Races I backed a horse at 80/1. (Rain Tax - son of Rain Lover). I had this real calm feeling that was really weird. Halfway through the race, he was behind the field by about six lengths and I still had this really calm feeling. He slowly caught up to the pack, overtook them and won by a length. At 80/1! I won $800. That was in 1980. Let's hope your calm feeling works.

Burt will be remembered alongside the likes of Sharp, Laurie, Bugden, Phelan, Delroy and many more as players who may not have been the superstar players the likes of Kenny, Hayne, Sterling and Hindmarsh but their contributions to the club both on and off the field were and are just as important.....

I must admit I have been a vocal detractor of Luke in the past, but this year he has been sensational. I too think that he has found his best position.

Well done Luke. :thumb

The 1st instant when I met my wife she lit up. There was a brilliant glowing light all around her and I didn't even know what she looked like. In that moment I knew she was going to be my wife. A deep calmness of peace and certainty came over me. Then I saw her looks (I was a superficial leg, bottom, face and boobs man back then) and just thought WOWWWW she is my wife and is well credentialed. For 6 months she wasn't interested in me, I cried almost every day but I persisted until one day I used my cave man tactics and finally kissed her. BINGO.... We got married within weeks after that first kiss. She always wondered why all my ex-girlfriends maintained a friendship with me. Now she knows. Have never married before and got married in my very late 30's. I always knew she was coming but gees what a long wait it was. Oh well at least I enjoyed/sampled many hundreds of women until she came along. I love women. These days they are generally so much stronger than men. I have great respect for women, particularly women devoted to being fulltime nurturing/supportive mothers.

Always been a Burt man, he's a special to notch his 100th try on friday night.

I'd also agree that as it stands Inu is our weakest link in the backline, BUT you'd have to give him a shot at wing outside of Tahu. Tahu will elevate Inu's game without a doubt. In saying that i find it difficult to see how Grothe would play any position other than wing. Does he have the footy brain to defend closer in? Can he still be as damaging carrying the ball if he has to make 20+ tackles a game as well?

It's Grothe's utter lack of versatility that just might keep him in the starting 13.
it may not be a dilema that da has come 2010.
