What a f**king douche. Newton got like 12 weeks for what he did - Hoppa has to get 24. What a f**king soft cock. Jumping up at elbowing a bloke in the head then acting like it was a big hit.

It was a deliberate act - He jumped elbow first!

It wasnt that bad, looked like a big hit at first, he just jumped to much, Galloway is a big bloke so he prolly tried to hit him high.......just not that high.

Well it seems I'm the token Manly supporter in this thread.

Seeing that tackle I felt sick in the guts, primarily for the safety of the Sharks player, but the creeping realisation that I just witnessed the end of Hoppa's career.

It was a disgusting "attempt" at a tackle, and I have no excuses to give. This is similar to Leuluai's style of charging out of the line and attempting to hammer the ball carrier with the shoulder, though the last few attempts Leuluai has had have missed it still makes me hold my breath when I see it.

I've defended Hoppa in the past, though I offer nothing here. I believe it will be the end of his career at Manly, and I have no problem with that.

Hoppa is a goner. I noticed Leuluai last week v the Warriors try that too - he's a shandy off a misconnection and a long suspension.

I'd be a little concerned at the apparent culture developing at Manly, where Terry Hill is patted on the back for high shots and niggle, Hoppa is slapped on the back and congratulated for KOing someone with a foul act and then going "OFF? For what?", and Leuluai like I say is a shandy off something seriously going wrong. Hopoate genuinely thought it was a great shot, as did his team-mates. They thought it was wicked, and a real spur, inspirational, just what they needed.

Great to have aggression, but it can sail too close to the wind and all of a sudden you find you're playing premier league players while big name players serve suspension.

Bye Bye Hoppa.........and i hope Keith is going ok.

but i would put my left testicle on that Terry Hill and the rest of the manly players congratulated hoppa not knowing that he connected with Keith's head.

The crowd roared as we all thought it was legitamit, but on replay the crowd was disgusted.

From my view from the hill, we all thought at first that it was a huge hit, massive shoulder charge. We couldn't see the replay properly either so everyone was surprised that he was sent off.

But coming home and seeing the replays, that was shocking. It is the end of his career. Time for Manly to move on and continue on this good start they've had on the field

I agree with Igor. I felt sick in the stomach watching the replay. I would say Galloway is around my age and anyone who has ever played the game will know that being knocked out and injured like that is downright scary. I wish him a speedy recovery, No one - NO ONE deserves that.

Now on to that idiot Hoppa. I hope he doesn't play again. I too have defended him in the past, Not because I like his style but I feel sorry for his 8 kids whose Father is a fool and if he can't make money in League, he is so stupid that he would struggle in any job. He is a grub pure and simple and it is time that no other players have to risk serious injury because he can't control himself.

I disagree with your comments on Manly Iafeta. I'm not the biggest Terry Hill fan but he would have seen what you and I did without the luxury of a slow motion replay. I originally thought it was a cracking shoulder charge because he rushed up so quick. I'm sure Terry wouldn't condone that behavior either.

It happened right in front of me and if the refs did thier job it may not have happened, Hoppa was a mile offside I was watching him on the previous play and he left the line well before the ball was even played.I am in no way definding him but once again the touchy had now idea! And while Keith was on the ground I told the touchy in no uncertain terms what a farce he was. What also bothers me is the manly players and supporters reaction they thought it was great, I was disguested and told them and they wanted to argue about it while the poor bloke was on the ground what a disgrace

I never wnt to see Hoppa again our game doesn't need him!

Hill's backslapping comes about a minute after the incident. Simpkins has already told Michael Monaghan there's a problem. Hoppa has run off like a cat. The replays I'm sure were being shown ad nauseum by then on the big screen.

If it was two seconds afterwards, I can see your point. Then again, as soon as it happened I thought it was a late and high shot. The ball was about to be knocked on by the second receiver when it happened.

Don't forget, last week a few of the Manly boys were slapping the back of Terry Hill after he aimed for, and connected with Jerome Ropati's head. Terry himself said there was nothing wrong with it, but surprise surprise pleaded guilty when it came up at the judiciary.
