I don't understand the hate. He was crippled by injury in the last three years but that's hardly his fault, is it? He was fantastic in 2010 and has been a model professional. I wish him all the best, I remember when we signed him and it was a bit surreal given his profile.

I din't think its hate. I think its relief that he wasn't re-signed (more a comment to those in charge of player retention & signings etc)

I was at the rd1 game against Manly when he played his first game for us, he absolutely killed it. Was a fantastic game from a fantastic season. Thanks for the memories Lote, all the best for your future.

Always been overpaid though. Top dollars for an older winger was stupidity. He was a great runner of the football but always defensively highly suspect.

I don't hate him, I just think it doesn't make sense to do anything but say good bye. Hope he does well in Irish Rugby.

He was on 200k a season. Certainly worth every penny even though injured for half of it.
The work with Koroibete and other Fijians makes up for the lack of game time as well as being the face of the Tigers at Charity events etc.

Lote deserves more credit than what's given here.

I would dispute your figures. They don't factor in 3rd party arrangements that another player missed out on.

Whatever it is, he is on half of what bludger Blair gets.
If Blair was out injured, would he have the marketability to work behind the scenes?

I'd say no. That's where Lote has earned his money.

Totally agree. Lote is a champion and even taking his inuries into account, still a very successful signing IMO. Plus he was beast in '10

One good season but he was always a defensive liability. Anyone opinions vary and I am happy he wasn't re-signed.
