Talk is he is gone. Bloke rang hadley (who i know isnt all that crash hot on really news instead of gossip) and asked why peach hadnt been resigned and that he was still a relevant factor to the team. Ray advised that he felt that peachys time was up and that he was actually fit to play today but got bumped over simmons.

Hadley went on to say that he tended to agreee with the clubs decision and that peachy was on the outer and has been ordinary for the last 18 months.

Okay, i was surprised at the comments, mind you media will beat anything up but it will be interesting to see where the club go from here with the peach. I think he is still relevant to the club on and off the field but obviously things are rather pear shaped. At least things will come to a head sooner than later..

Yeah I'm sure the club don't want him. After all why make him a better deal then the first one ;-)

I'd be looking for more a credbible source than Ray Hadley's opinion.

I'll believe Peach is going when he announces it in the media.

Why should the Club give him a Better contract, Just look at his form in the last 2 years.........nothing out of the ordinary....

There's one thousand reasons why Peach should be retained in the club, least of which rests on his ability.

There's countless prior threads on this, where some rather thick headed and ignorant people expressed there anti-peachy thoughts, have a look through them with an objective mind set and see whether your swayed either way.

I'm not entirely adverse to Hadley, but I think he's wrong on the Simmons / Peachy summation. Completely wrong.

Retain Peach Stuart, give us something more than a franchise to support.

And how many Sharks games have you watched in that period?

I think the only arguement for not keeping Peach is that his legs aint what they used to be. Its a business decision and unfortunately there's no room for sentiment. And I will wait until an announcement comes from the great man himself and not an idiot like Hadley.

It will be stupid of me to have an opinion............

It is a business decision Tom. You're exactly right.

That's why we have to retain him.

I want loyalty with my wins, not an upsized franchise. Even taking the subjectivity out of it, the ergonomics of having Peach in the side can't be ignored. He fits, he leads, he instills loyalty, he teaches the young blokes and the dispensation is there to be swallowed.

Peacheys form is well worth keeping, how anyone can say he hasnt been in form this year is just plain wrong.

But its witha heavy heart that I again re-iterate my view that he will not play for the sharks again, certainly not next season, maybe not again this year.

Its bloody appalling that the club allow this , nah, fabricate these situations with long serving clubmen to eventuate.

Hadley was right on one count about peachey being fit, not only this week either.

Its bullshit.

It's bloody Deano and Nick all over again, and I damn nearly shoved my season passes up the board's collective @rseholes in May 2003.

IF, and I say IF, it comes to light that Peach has been treated the same way as these other two blokes, the Cronulla Sharks can go fuc% themselves.

I agree, he is not what he used to be. Neither was ET in his last season or two, nor Mitch Healey, but these guys regularly took us to the semis. Did we shove them out the door with no dignity whatsoever? Hell, ET was 36 when he played his last game wasn't he???

ET's form in his last season was great i could count missed tackles on one hand compared to Peach, and amount of dropped ball, and mistakes, you cannot compare the 2

I hope peach stays, but if he does go we've found a suitable replacement and it sure as hell isnt Simmons, Kent should get the nod he's shown he can float around the ball like the old peach, has a moderately good kicking game and can also TACKLE (except for that one incident yesterday).

Mate, were you even WATCHING today's game?

Simmo handled those bombs and kick returns like a veteran.

He is YOUNG. His defence will improve with GOOD COACHING and some patience. But his efforts yesterday, in those conditions against those kicks, you cannot call that a poor effort.

He will come good.

Hadley is a joke and not a very funny one.
I went for a jog yesterday and listened to his crap on my walkman .
One bloke rang in and basically said that the Reg Regan character is only taking the piss out of players from that era, ( where they used to punch on).
Now I missed the start of the the whole topic on this but from what I could gather Hadley beleives Reg Regan aka Mat Johns is serious when he says "bring back the biff". This Hadley fella is a complete moron if he thinks that people actually believe Mat John's (through his Character as Reg Regan ) would want blokes to punch on for no reason.
I've heard Hadley say he never watches the footy show , so obviously has his own agenda on this .
One can only come to the conclusion that if Hadley beleives Reg Regan is a real person then he believe's that ..
Harold Bishop fell off a boat somewhere between Port Phillip Bay and Launceston and had amnesia for 5 years.
Sir Les Patterson was knighted by the queen of England.
Spinal Taps drummer actually died from spontanious combustion.. on stage.
and that the Roosters are under the salary cap.
Hadley has got nothing .

I think Reg should make some form of public statement...

"Now, I love the biff, you all know that...But make sure the bloke is LOOKING first! tap him on the shoulder or something!"

Back to the Future.........

how good woud it be though, i think the feeling would be so much more better winning a premiership with our beloved 99/2000 squad we had some greats in that squad. i would have loved to see triester hold up that trophy...

Well said, Shark.
Simmo played very well in testing conditions for a fullback. Looked safe as all game.

I wasnt attacking his handling, as I said in another thread he was part of a backline lacking tackling ability, but I really dont care. Kent has more of the peachy attacking prowess, when simmons was running the ball back he seemed content just to take it up and get tackled then he went missing.
Simmons will be part of the backline for a very long time but I just dont think it will be at fullback.
If you read the post again I was critical of his tackling.
