Apparently he'll be off to the Northern Hemisphere next year. Reports indicate he's only been earning $75,000 a year or so, while our dud All Blacks live a life of luxury. We bloody well deserve to lose him if we've been ripping the poor bugger off like that.

Well well well maybe you'll need to find a home grown winger for once!

Thats exactly it. Why spend more money on someone who can't make the All Blacks? Although this coming from an Australian Rugby fan is hypocracy in the extreme.

However I still think Auckland will get their checkbook out and he will move south.

He wont play for the All Blacks and never will
So the Blues will go back to being mediocre because there best player is being ripped off and Spencer has never been able to handle any pressure placed on him,Whats new?

Hopefully.

You're right about not spending big money on a player who isnt eligible to play for NZ. But then again, the S12 is worth a fair bit to NZ rugby & without a doubt, Rupeni is about the most exciting player in the competition. People want to see him play & I reckon he's worth keeping in the country at almost any cost.
Maybe captain invisible could donate some of his wages.

your all forgetting something,
northland pay some of his wages and there not the richest of provinces.
i think someone should help northland pay him more.
hes been taking that much because he knows northland cant afford to pay him as much as the other provinces.
surely the NZRFU could help out in some way.

They could & maybe they will, but it gets back to the fact that he's not eligible to play for NZ & in the eyes of the NZRFU that makes him less of a priority. Maybe someone in private enterprise will do the same for Rupeni that was done for Spencer. I really hope he spends the bulk of his career in NZ.

The NZ unions seem to think being Fast makes you good even if you cant catch or tackle hence why Bobo was selected over the far superior Shayne Austin
Rokocoko suffers from Vidiri syndrome,True he's fast and scores trys but he lets in just as much and drops alot of ball

I'd be interested to know how many of the Brumbies were born and bred in the ACT ;-)
