Does anyone know if he is back with the jets for this year???

I know he signed with the knights and then pulled out on the deal as he needed to sort himself out or something along those lines...

Declined a career-making opportunity with the Knights, and now thanks to this indiscretion, his career appears to be...

Up in smoke

In a week dominated by headlines about scandals involving sex, alcohol and violence, the news about a league player being suspended after testing positive for cannabis has hardly rated a mention. The incident occurred last season but is believed to have cost Byron Ford a contract with the Knights as well as a 12-match suspension. Ford, who was a member of Newtown's NSW Cup grand final team, was on the verge of signing with the Knights but pulled out of the deal late last year. His suspension ends on June 19.

Doping violation: One-year sanction for Byron Ford, NSW Rugby League player

24 June 2009

New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) player, Byron Ford has received a one year sanction from the New South Wales Rugby League after a second doping offence for the presence of cannabis.
The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) tested the Newtown Jets player on 28 September 2008 and 5 October 2008 after the semi-final and grand final of the NSW Cup competition. On both occasions he tested positive to cannabis.
Mr. Ford had previously received a 12 match suspension from the NSWRL for a first offence for cannabis following a positive test on 29 March 2008.
Cannabis is listed as a specified substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.
Under the World Anti-Doping Agency Code a sanction of one year is the minimum sanction available for a second offence for cannabis.
Mr Ford will not be eligible to compete or register with a club until 16 June 2010.

Remember seeing him in Perpignan in his Hull KR days and saw him slope off for with a packet of ciggies at the evening do, now I know why he looked so chilled when he came back!
