CA in financial trouble

7 paid overs and they know it.

The big beat-off league goes for too long and yet they paid top dollar for a product in a ratings slide because they tried to force even more of it onto us.

Both 7 and CA can suck a fat one for getting themselves into this position.

Their response was over the top but for CA not even offer to come to the table to negotiate going forward was just silly. Clowns on both sides IMO.

Why on earth is it silly?

CA signed a deal for a certain amount of money if they delivered a product. CA are saying they are on track to deliver that product.

Seven have said ‘we would like to give you less money please’. CA are rightly sticking to the contract.

There is no similarity at all to the football seasons where games have been cancelled and postponed.

The RL will only be down a 4 weeks, the AFL about the same. The value of everything has dropped, everyone is tightening their belts all over the place in every industry.

It would be now more expensive to broadcast because of Covid and I bet the ads won’t be worth the same. The deal wasn’t struck when a pandemic was on do you think they would get the same now????

My point was to not even attempt any sort of dialogue with their partners in this present climate is arrogant and foolish. I’m not saying bend over for them and give them what they want but to not even come to the table is systematic of the way this game has been run for a long time.

Oh please. ‘Won’t somebody think of the multi billion dollar media empire!’

Seven paid over for the cricket rights. Everyone said then and everyone knows it now. They’re now trying to get a discount to bail out a poor financial decision and hiding behind COVID to do it.
