Aside from whether or not you think the movie was good, are you really dumb enough to think that people will somehow form a bad opinion of Australia because an Alien movie was filmed here?

If they didn't form a bad opinion on Australia from Australia than no movie will do it.

Prometheus wasn't bad, certainly not the worst movie in the Alien series. It was different and I like they tried to create more of a mythology around the whole series. I guess it kind of loosely ties in with the original Alien.

Boom Tish! Thankfully I was ill when the wife wanted to see that so I was spared.

I have no doubt the next instalment of the Prometh series will kill the Alien franchise altogether and that a third won't even be made. You heard it here first.

I agree with Chook that Prometheus was just a train wreck of a film that Scott seemingly couldn't pull together. He still gets a pass for all the good films he has made, surely. He doesn't seem to have lost it completely, The Martian seems to be well received (I haven't seen it yet). Admittedly though, he didn't write that.

Weird bump...

I didn't mind Prometheus, I think whatever problems the film had to do with Lindelof's writing, If you manage to watch the film with commentary Lindelof make it specific that he wanted the viewer to make up his or her mind, as to what's going on..So bring on Paradise Lost I dont think Lindelof has anything to do with the sequel.

Is it just a ploy to draw diehard Alien fans back into the fold? Whatever his motives, director Ridley Scott has settled on the title for his new film – Alien: Covenant.

Either way, fans remain uncertain about whether it will be more a sequel to the underwhelming Prometheus or closer to a prequel to the beloved Alien.

Prometheus was a solid movie which was about 10% away from being outstanding.
The problem was the 10% they screwed up was so frustratingly bad.
