f**k Munster. If we didn't have a great replacement for Norman already, there's still no Pont in 1 year. f**k that. Let him go to Canberra.
Agree. Harry Grant, with Hunt and the youngsters, would propel us to contenders.Well, if I had that choice, I would take Grant over the powder sniffing block of cheese! Grant seems like a good player and a good personality.
Well , then throw out the pathways program at the same time. One of the best players in the game. Why would you not want him here?
Bingo !!! Great post Mojo , just seeing the 6 or 7 local juniors form the heart of the NRL premiers last night not only provide on field performance but solid culture as well. Thats what got them over the line and enabled 5 or 6 to play injured , something we have failed to do for a decade !Where’s all this talk about Munster coming from? The guy has ratbag written all over him. It’s old fashioned but I believe it’s still true: StGI is rich with talented young players and always has been. Every game we play, our opposition has a few of our home-grown talented players. Why do let them go and pay good money for known crazies, rehab cases and semi-retirees to take their places? We talk about restoring the club culture. Well, the STGI culture IS developing great young footy players who live and breathe for the club. Look at Penrith and listen to what those young guys say about their connections, who they represent and how they feel about each other. That’s what builds great footy sides and wins games and competitions. Rugby league is a game of passion and belief upon which skills and tactics are built. It’s not a money game played in a marketplace of egotism.
Absolutely bid for Grant if he becomes available.Well, if I had that choice, I would take Grant over the powder sniffing block of cheese! Grant seems like a good player and a good personality.
I can sense a culture/attitude changing at the Storm. I don't think that they will be as dominant next year or in fact for a few years. If players like Grant become disillusioned, their attitude will change. Grant would be a great pick-up if he was available.Absolutely bid for Grant if he becomes available.
I’m honestly suprised that we can’t seem to develop any quality hookers or forwardsI can sense a culture/attitude changing at the Storm. I don't think that they will be as dominant next year or in fact for a few years. If players like Grant become disillusioned, their attitude will change. We must ensure that our young prospects are kept and looked after and eventually they will build a team around them that will guarantee top of the table finishes in the years to come.
There is still a reasonable chance that Hunt will be in SOO, so there might be a few games for Sullivan at no 7. Also you can't discount the possibility of injury. Hunt broke an arm and a leg this year. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but who knows. I think Munster for a year would just be a paycheck to him for an interim year between the Storm and the new Brisbane franchise. He has no great desire to play for the Red V, so I think we should forget him. He can be brilliant, but it happens less often these days. And I think he is a grub!I know that Munster will block Amone for a year but we were never gonna see Amone and Sullivan in the halves next year people seem to forgot we got Hunt and McCullough
Any particular reason you are posting this George Dragon?
I wouldn't sign him for two years but believe for one year he could help ease Amone and Sullivan into first grade and still keep the team competitive. He is but why would we sign him for one year only.
I guess because signing Harry Grant suddenly becomes a faint possibility?? As @possm would say "Come on Millward, make it happen".Any particular reason you are posting this George Dragon?
couldn't agree any more - Smith is the gun we need but sadly, highly unlikely. Storm showed how good he was by how they went after he had to go off.Forget Munster. Storm cannot keep both Smith and Grant. One or the other will want a full time hooker gig. We need to be ready to swoop as soon as one becomes disgruntled. We are crying out for a damaging hooker.
I had a brief thought about Rein hahah but supposedly his off to ParraHarry Grant is the kind of player that we should be throwing big money at.
Young, talented, hardworking, still hasn’t reached his peak and has represented at state of origin level with great effect.
Plays in arguably the most important position on the park, and seems to have a great attitude towards his football development.
Given all of that, I fully expect us to announce the signing of Mitch Rein in the coming weeks.
I’d take Rein for sure. He’d certainly be a better backup than BB ended up being.I had a brief thought about Rein hahah but supposedly his off to Parra
Grant is the best hooker I’ve seen on potential alone. He is an absolute beast to watch. But with a new Qld club just about to start you would think if he were available he’d be a priority signing for them.I can sense a culture/attitude changing at the Storm. I don't think that they will be as dominant next year or in fact for a few years. If players like Grant become disillusioned, their attitude will change. Grant would be a great pick-up if he was available.
