What if I told you insane was working fifty hours a week in some office for fifty years at the end of which they tell you to piss off; ending up in some retirement village hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet on time? Wouldn't you consider that to be insane?, but hey Barb was devastated..

The Bloke is an effing legend of the sport. Love what he brings to the table.

Not just for what he has achieved on the field. But (almost as brilliantly) what he's achieved off it.

Keeping true fan hatred in the sport when we've had no real pantomime villians since Gallen retired. But he's eclipsed Gal. And rivaling Wally.

There are too many vanilla players in the world these days. Of course there's players a lot of people don't like. But to TRULY HATE...... Smith has everyone on a string. And gives plenty of people on these forums a reason to pull their finger out of their bum and type away on this thread.

Well the quotes from the book contradict this massively. Talking about how he spoke to Alex McKinnon and that Alex apologised to him about comments Alex made. Bugger that
Show some integrity and take responsibility for your actions. Maybe the quotes have been selective but they are portraying Cameron Smith as an arrogant SOB. Well I guess its hard to be anything else coming out of the Melb Storm

you hit the nail on the head with selective quotes mate. Like any book , the press will select the “juicy quotes” etc to turn it into a headline grabber. But that will also help boost sales (apart from perhaps @Generalzod ..).

Smith is loved in Qld and Vic, hated in NSW. So no surprises the NSW usual hacks are picking the eyes out of the juicy quotes to further fuel the hate to get their quota of clicks.

I’ll give it a read though.

Theres sportsmen I’d pay money to read their book and there’s those I wouldn’t go near. Steve Waugh and Shane Warne are prime examples. Couldn’t be less interested in Warne but Steve Waugh has so much more to him than we knew from his time on the field. I put smith in the Waugh category
