Whilst I would welcome the addition of a Kimmorley, Cronk, Orford or Monaghan...

We just need a half competent organizer to take the general minutea of running the side off Campese, and then he can do what he does best - be unpredictable and take on the line.

We don't need a superstar. We need Liam Foran or Mick Dobson.

You seem to know your team very well, but obviously have not watched the influence Scott Dureau has had on a lot of Knights matches this year. The other two halfbacks you mentioned would serve any club much better.

But the fact is that Dureau is a halfback...something lacking at the club. Hell even a Josh Lewis or Scott Porter would improve the side if they were coached to actually play as an organising halfback.

Probably a terrible idea, but lets go with Herb at 7, 6 Mccrone and 13 Campo.

We will probably lose a little in defence but our attack cant be worse then it is now..surely..

IMO that is the way to go. Nothing to lose and we looked great in 08 with that game where we had 7. Dobbo 6. Carney 13. Campo. I guess the problem is Dobbo and Carney are streets ahead of McCrone and Herb.

No. You don't understand - Scott Dureau is unable to tackle. He may wear the number 7 on his back but he is no halfback. He has been directly responsible for 3 (you could argue 4) of Newcastle's losses this year. Why do you think he is no longer playing. Scott is the slowest player in the NRL, he never runs the ball to the line for this very reason. He has no running game. He can kick a ball but it often goes over the sideline - on the full! Any of the blokes you mentioned are well in front of Scott on ability. Dureau has been cut the past few weeks and Newcastle have won two in a row for the first time this season. Coincidence. Definitely not. Defensively Newcastle are much better without him. If it's a tight game the last bloke you want defending in the line is Dureau. Stone even hooked him one game when we were winning to protect the lead. Hooked his halfback mate!

I've been saying this for years.

Currently though I'd prefer campo at souths logan with fensom to stay at lock.
