Can Madge steer the Broncos to the finals?

Yesterday was a new low for the Broncos this year. The conditions clearly called for a Madge-type style gameplan Im pretty sure Madge would have delivered that type of memo to them before they ran out yesterday. That first half in particular when the game was in the balance, you could have sworn they were playing dry condition football such was their lack of respect for the football. They were terrible.

Pretty much all year (apart from the first half in their first game), the Broncos have not played traditional Madge type footy. Apart from Haas Carrigan, there is very little grind from the rest of that side.

It is a side that is actually getting worse as the season goes on.

He's not a particularly good coach but with all the advantages the Broncos get they should make it

Are there 8 teams better than them to keep them out of the finals? I'm not so sure.

I feel like they will make the 8, though they need to start gelling if they want to finish top four.

They'll be top 4 IMO.

Start to the NRL season has been crazy. But Roosters played Penrith back into form last night. So regular programming may resume from next week.

The quality of the comp is terrible this year so they should get in. Saying that though looks like they were pretty overrated coming into the season.

Maybe but Brisbane aren't winning anything with Walsh and Hunt in the side. Both offer more negatives than positives, especially Walsh. Fast and nothing else.

The back line (1-5 at least) is soft as butter. It looks as though the way Madge has been training them they’re not coping at all.

While Hunt and Reyno are the old crones in the field if it wasn’t for Reyno and his kicking game they’d be far worse.

The forwards are great, no denying that, but there’s the constant expectation of haas and carrigan to win them games.

Origin will probably pull them apart and they’ll have a hard time winning with the “baby broncos”. I can see them scraping into the 8 or stealing the 9th spot. Which is a shame cause I would like to see them come dead last.

Madge is a coach who will flog his players to extract an extra 10% out of them. It will only work if the players buy in and knuckle down. Probably needs a season or two to get rid of the lazy f**ks and get a few of his kind of players in. They should make the 8 comfortably however, there are many a bad team in the comp right now.

His style has a shelf life at a club, with the broncos on the cusp of a rebuild he probably has a year or two to win it.

It doesnt look like they have bought in.

Your right his style has a shelf life and the premiership window is on the verge of crumbling unless madge weeds out the soft pricks.

Its alright to piss off a 35 year old reserve grader for liking an instagram post.

But Madge needed to make a statement getting rid of a big name.

Cobbo would be the one considering they just extended Staggs.

Madge could and should have made a statement by kicking Mam out at the time

I 100% agree

He missed his moment and the timing was perfect. Having just got the job.

People forget Mam and Walsh were carrying on like dickheads in Bali before the incident back in Brisbane.

Watching madges presser yesterday you would swear if you had no idea what went on Ezra Mam has been the victim in the past 6 months.
