Can Parra win the comp?

They've only got to get past Melbourne once and they're every chance. But it would fly in the face of conventional wisdom that dictates that you've got have a champion half and a good spine (1,6,7,9) to win a comp, since their halves are so ordinary.

Certainly their forwards were good tonight and their outside backs (outside the halves that is) are full of strike power. No problems in either of those areas. Can Finch and Smith get them home? Or can they get home in spite of having Finch and Smith in the halves?

Not on tonights performance. Only two teams deserve to fight it out atm, Storm & Manly. But I do remember that being said in 2005.

I can't see them getting past Melbourne. They'll be up against a forward pack that won't be counting on there reputation to win them the game and Melbourne actually have a decent pair of halves and a hooker.

Unless Tim Smith improves we won't win next week. He can play better, but if he thinks the Storm will give him an easier time he'll find out very quickly that's not the case.

The individual brilliance of guys like Hayne and Inu can only go so far. A HB giving hospital passes and a 0/10 kicking game isn't going to be enough against a fully rested and full strength melbourne side.

I'm a Tim Smith fan, but tonight he could well have cost us a game we should have won quite comfortably.

you just never know. they are 80 minutes away from a GF berth and anything can happen between here and now. the important thing is that they have put themselves in that position.

Tim is obviously playing injured and looks like he is nursing himself through. he did give good service to his backs tonight...needs to work on his kicking though. that will get punished next week if it stays the same.

I don't think their halves are ordinary. Frustratingly inconsistent more like it.

Of course they can win it. They have the most talented team in the competition.

I'll reserve my decision for the GF after tomorrow however going on Parra's performance tonight it will only take a sh*t game from melbourne for them to come over the top so who knows?

Tonights game didn't show me they could win the comp, it took them 70 minutes to put a Bulldogs side that had nothing to the sword. They will need to go up a lot of levels if they are to get close to Melbourne.

I didn't think the sminch combo was that bad, smith constantly found space from his long kicking game though his short needs some major work.

Last weekend the storm delibratley stayed in first gear against the broncs and I'm not sure thats the right thing to do with a bye in hand. I'm probably wrong but you never know! That for me is why it's been such a great season!

Defensively they're set. I think Parra will be going to Melbourne with alot of confidence knowing the last time they met in Melbourne a few weeks ago, could have gone either way.

To say the Storm are specials, is way off the mark.

If they can learn to hold onto the footy then they'll give the storm one hell of a scare, their defence has been awesome for the last 2 weeks.

and whats to say the storm wouldnt have played like the dogs did?

The dogs have lost their last 5 games now.... How many have the Storm dropped?

IMHO, that was one of the worst finals I have EVER watched. Besides that freaky field goal (did he knock that on???) and that Hayne take late in the match, it was absolutely boring.

Did anybody get the final error count?
