Gasnier play for the Dragons now that he has been pumped from Origin...or is it too late now that the side has been named???

What an idiot....wouldn't see a Queenslander doing that stuff!!! ;-)

Yes, he can go back and play. What his mind set will be will be interesting.

BTW didn't the Queenslanders already have to dump one of their players before the squad even got selected? ;-)

Two points; I would imagine he won't be allowed to play tomorrow as Geoff Carr is also the dragons CEO and; Chris Walker???????

i also have been scouring the Internet for an answer to this question.

Surely the Dragons won't let him play?!!!

If they do, we could be in big trouble. They have Mathew Head, Nathan Long, Reece Simmonds, Dean Young, John Carlaw and Mark Riddell already and these guys are seasoned first graders! The last thing we need is for them to have a Test level centre available!

Origin star suspended
May 20, 2004

ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA have heavily fined and suspended an apologetic Mark Gasnier after he was sacked from the NSW State of Origin team today.

Dragons chief executive Peter Doust met with the 22-year-old Gasnier this afternoon following his admission that he used a team-mate's mobile phone to make an obscene call to a 27-year-old Sydney woman early yesterday morning.

Doust said Gasnier had been suspended indefinitely but he refused to reveal the extent of the fine.

Gasnier said he intended to personally apologise to the woman for causing any offence.

He admitted being under the influence of alcohol but said he must be held accountable for his actions.

Gasnier said he'd paid a huge price for the mistake because it'd been his dream to play Origin.

AAP

This should answer the Question the Dragqueens have also suspended Mark "Warney" Gasnier

Yes, I did post on first knowledge of his demotion not taking into account any punishment by his club - which there clearly is. Given the state of the league in recent weeks it would have been stupid for the Dragons not to suspend him as well.

Head and Long have been ruled out according to 2KY this morning - check the Dragon forum for an update. Blacklock and Thompson were being considered however they won't play according to the same report.

Well sorry, but Carr has nothing to do with the Dragons.... HE WAS the CEO many years ago...... when Smithy was there. :D

Was that a stab at Smithy Rylesy?

You and misty should get on well! :D :D

Well actually not, eelegant. Anyone that knows me, knows that I like SMITHY 110%. It was not a stab at Smith at all.

We do as a matter of fact.

Won't tonight night after Parra put 50 on Saints though....!

Well Misty.... WHEN Parra wins, good on them. If they can beat a team with 13 first graders out good on them. Wow, you get 2 competition points. Although if you cannot beat Saints or cannot beat us by more than 20-30 points, I think Parra needs help... ;-)

As stated before, Carr is no longer connected with St George in any way. In fact, he is very unpopular with the Hard Core after he championed the merger with Easts in the mid 1990's. He showed then that his true colours aren't Red & White, they're yellow.

Carr only toed the party line of the NSWRL & ARL so he could get where he is today, a cushy job. All to the detriment of St George.

He's a traitor, a Judas & I hope I live long enough to dance on his grave.

Cheers,
Ben S.

Well said Southern Saint.

Ta, Rylesy. Saints fans have long memories, eh!?

To the Parra fans, thanks for the game, it was one I went in to with trepidation because Parra have a good record over Saints since 1999.

Your fans have been gracious in defeat & please try to understand that any gloating etc is aimed at Brian Smith, not you. Keep your chins up & if you need any tips on how to get your coach sacked, just ask us - been there, done that!!

Cheers,
Ben S.

Ben S, thanks for the sentiments. I think we all agree that Saints are one of our greatest rivalries, but unlike Canterbury and Manly it isn't based on malice. Saints always treat us with respect enough to be at their best when we play them. Despite the pain of watching our team play like Zetland Under 4's, it was a pleasure seeing some of your young guns play out of their skin. I even invited a rabid Saints fan to my place. He had the temerity to turn up in red and white jumper, red and white hat, red and white flag, and spent 80 minutes waving the bloody thing. At least he had the grace to praise Tsoulos! He went home happy, which is always nice to see a mate do. REst assured, if he was a Canterbury fan, I would have poured paint stripper on his car before he left!
