Canberra nightlife

Hey peoples, I am coming down to Canberra with some friends for the weekend for the Panthers game in a couple of weeks. I think we will be staying in Dickson, which I believe is a stone's throw from the city.

Having not been to Canberra for a while (apart from a flying visit for the game last year), I have forgotten what kind of entertainment (i.e. pubs) they have down there. All I can remember is that there is the Casino and some Irish pub (who's name has escaped me).

Any suggestions on which are the best places to go? Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated, and should make my stay in the nations capital more enjoyable...

Cheers in advance.

Woodgers, you should really get rid of that quote. Makes you look like a wanker.

You clearly posted it yourself under another name.

Nothing wrong with South Pacs, althought questions have to be asked when you see the DJ surrounded by a steel cage. I'd suggest the City Club if you want to see 60 year old Mediterranean Descendants pulling each others hair and kicking each other whilst on the ground.

For sure. The Moose is a wiener festival from way back.

Syd, this guy Flyer works next to me. He doesn't like League but has a real thing for Hawthorn and Anthony Callea. When he isn't rubbishing League he is trying to pick up Men at certain 'exclusive' nightspots.

Come on Flyer, Parra Panther might want to know where the AFL bars are in case he is keen for some Y-M-C-A.

I believe the final 12 from Idol 1 sang the National Anthem, Holy Grail as well as ACTAFL favourite 'up there Cazaly' at last years GF? I'm surprised Shannon Noll didn't keep the Collingwood faithful happy by singing about his big black car.

Anthony could really help the guys relax in the scrums, don't you think?

Guys, I'm sure you don't need reminding to keep the Raiders forum clean - please don't make any unfounded accusations - cheers :)

Did you ask the EXACT same question last year or was that another Pamfers fan?

No, last year I only went down in the afternoon of the game, and went home straight after, so it would not have been me.

Thanks for the info everybody - duly noted.

go to Kingston or Manuka. Lot33 in Kingston is one of the few things I miss in Canberra!
