Log of wood up for grabs & for once I actually like Wellingtons chances. No ABs & Mehrtens with 2 injured legs should weaken the red & blacks by a fair margin. Cullen, Fa`atau & Bobo all looking dangerous.
I'm no big fan of either team, but a change of shield holder wouldnt be a bad thing IMO.

I have already started the praying. Everybody is writing the Lions off, so I think we have a chance.

I have picked the Lions to do it. I think Cantab's played above themselves last week to beat the Mooloos.

B U G G E R ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Anybody who doesn't think the shield means something just had to look at the faces of the Wellington players after full time.

From an unwinnable position to draw the game but not win the shield. That has to be one of the most entertaining shield matches of the last two decades.

I gotta know though, how can a team, in the space of a minute, go form utter crap to sublime, to utter crap, to sublime again.

OH FOR A HOOKER WHO CAN THROW STRAIGHT.

The shield games are all I can get excited about rugby-wise ATM. Its one of the great traditions in union & long may it continue. Hard luck to Wellington, so close. Congrats to BOP, too. Got to wonder about the depth of Auckland rugby.
