I don't remember feeling more disillusioned with the game and the way it is being administered and officiated than I do right now.
You obviously didn't follow league before 2013 then.

With every second article being written about it, largely by idiots who know nothing of the game pre NRL, I'm not surprised. Doesn't make it correct.

I've followed since 1993
To suggest current admin is worse than under Gallop, I mean come on. They might lack competence now but News Limited's involvement in RL admin was tantamount to corruption.
Well then you have a poor memory. The game pre commission was in a comparitivly horrendous state. Would you prefer David Gallop back to negotiate our media deals again?
Yep ok- to be honest, I don't really follow the business/administration of NRL too closely and maybe 'administration' was a poorly chosen word. I guess what I meant to achieve there was to point beyond the referees on field performance to the off field factors which may affect their performance.
What would you call sacking 2 officials but keeping the head ref who is also the brother of the refs boss? Giving him a “demotion”.To suggest current admin is worse than under Gallop, I mean come on. The head ref didn't make the mistake. What would you call sacking 2 officials but keeping the head ref who is also the brother of the refs boss? Giving him a “demotion”.
I see what you've done there. Very nice. I don't think it is as quite as serious as defrauding the game of millions of dollars in revenue though. What would you call sacking 2 officials but keeping the head ref who is also the brother of the refs boss? Giving him a “demotion”.
There are other threads debating who made what error. Sutton was obligated to stop the game when the flag was raised. That was the error. The head ref didn't make the mistake.
I just wish we had more choice than incompetence mixed with poor leadership/a bit of nepotism and the other option being News masquerading as doing the best for the game and corruption.I see what you've done there. But refs don’t stop games when a bloke runs down the sideline and dives in the corner for a try...with a touchie holding up a flag. There are other threads debating who made what error. Sutton was obligated to stop the game when the flag was raised. That was the error.
