Teams like carcassonne are the bedrock of the French domestic league and putting them into the English setup would cause more harm than good imo.

As a Carcassonne resident and a big supporter of the club, I have a mixed feeling, RL is stagnating or dying here in France, going abroad for Carcassonne XIII can be something new and a way to progress but in the long term is it viable?
And isn't abandoning the French championship a way of weakening it further?

With a reasonable chance Toulouse could be back in SL soon it leaves the French league in an interesting position. Maybe IMg should invite grading from french clubs in their own league?

French Teams entering the UK league pyramid should be both expansion areas and big cities like Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille, Montpellier and even Paris.

leave the current heartland town/village teams in the domestic elite 1&2 divisions.

I am guessing carcassone want to join UK set up so they can get in the IMG grading system with a view to building an A grade club and getting in SL? If IMG extended grading to any french club who wanted to that might address them needing to move out of France?

I guess they’d have to be graded by IMG to progress through the levels. It would be interesting to see where the French teams land.

currently Catalans are 4th and Toulouse 10th so both would be in SL in 2025 if stays same. As for clubs like Caracassone Id imagine they'd be around the 15-20th mark but not sure how popular they are in their home markets and their stadiums are generally pretty poor quality.

Covg of that league should be on the new RL streaming service and on Foxsports to generate some wider interest. It sits outside NRL and SL season period to give some RL content in their off seasons.

Yeah I agree that the FoxSports League channel seems tailor made for showing other competitions in our off season. However there might only be us few watching it. But gotta start somewhere.
