Computer says no: NRL blocks photoshopped cardboard cutouts
Thinking of maybe Kim Jong-un, your mate who hates the Bunnies decked out in cardinal and myrtle or even a mock-up of the
Herald's own Peter FitzSimons ... sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but they're not going to make it.
Oh well, at least it was fun dreaming.
tale of the online-ordered $22 cardboard cutouts to be placed in the stands of cavernous NRL stadiums emerged, the website didn't quite melt down. But it's fair to say it was cut down to size a little.

Believe it or not, about 250 orders had already been placed until Thursday night. That's 250 life-sized cutouts that will be returned to their purchasers when this madness ends.
All sorts of weird and wonderful figures were being ordered for round four, from celebrities to cheeky photoshopped images of friends designed to crack a few smiles.

At the end of a week where one manufacturer was even flogging red shirts hailing Australian Rugby League Commission tsar Peter V'landys, 30 years on from Tina Turner's famous rugby league anthem (
Simply V'Best!), why not stretch it out?
Alas, the NRL on Thursday confirmed there is someone watching.
Maybe it's V'landys, maybe not. But every time Big Brother detects a fake or inappropriate order they're hitting the reject button and you can have your money back.
Orders which include imagery deemed inappropriate will be cancelled and not placed in the venue.
NRL spokesperson
An NRL spokesperson said all orders would go through three checkpoints.
"Orders which include imagery deemed inappropriate will be cancelled and not placed in the venue," the spokesperson said. "The customer will be refunded."
Regardless, the "Fan In The Stand" innovation won't be boring. The NRL will trial it with a few hundred cutouts at Bankwest Stadium and Central Coast Stadium this round, then ramp it up for round four.
They might not be 12,000-strong like Borussia Monchengladbach were for their German Bundesliga clash last weekend, but they'll be there.
It will be done on the one proviso though, the images are of authentic fans and will be placed in the venues of the teams each fan nominates.
And can you imagine when Ray "Rabbits" Warren is slipped the note with the official "crowd" number, say, midway through the second half of Canberra hosting Newcastle at Campbelltown next week (strange times, we know).
Enough to even get a laugh out of Kim Jong-un, you'd reckon.

peanut butter bacon burger mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
despite its
strong fanbase, not a lot of people know about a secret menu at
Shake Shack. So, we took a shot at ordering a secret menu item the burger chain once
experimented with years ago. It’s called the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger, and it needs to be brought back. Watch and find out why.
