I saw on C9 news here in Perth that Judd will apparently be contesting it or attempting to get it downgraded as he was "looking for a pressure point behind the ear"

I don't know what Judd can argue... he was charged with 'Misconduct - unreasonable or unnecessary contact to the face'. It was graded as intentional (which he dobbed himself in), high contact and low impact.

I don't know what he can argue either, I think he will be kissing goodbye to the first few weeks of next season. Suspensions picked up at the end of the current season don't apply to pre-season the next year do they?

No, the only suspensions that apply to pre-season are ones that are picked up in the pre-season and the team is still in the NAB Cup and not the Challenge practice matches.
