Les Catalans Dragons five eighth Casey McGuire, who played very well in the semi-final against Wigan, is in doubt for the final at Wembley on August 25th,
According to sources inside Les Catalans, McGuire is definitely out for two weeks. But the team doctor has said that there is a possibility that he will play.
Had Thomas Bosc not been injured he might have been moved to five eighth.
If McGuire is unable to play it seems that he coach has two options:
(1) Move Greg Mounis to five eighth, where he had played a lot of rugby league in his youth, and replace him as lock with Teixido or another reserve player.
(2) Move John Wilson to five eighth, Duport from wing to centre, and Justin Murphy to the wing.
The latter is more likely in my opinion.
It will be a huge blow if McGuire is unavailable because he adds a second kicking dimension to Les Catalans game, takes some pressure off Stacey Jones, and makes it harder for the opposition to pinpoint and shut down the team's field kicking game.
