Catalans ask for Magic weekend to be played in France

The BBC article seems to claim that the decision to host the 2020 MW is between Liverpool and Newcastle with Liverpool seeming to be the favourites.
It does, but reading past comments on it the fans prefer Newcastle also as well it underpins a growing North East junior playing base there.
As well there appears to be very little interest in Rugby League in Liverpool itself. There have been rumours of late of a new Liverpool Rugby League club but it appears just that, rumours

It's too easy and makes more sense but this is RL we are talking about.

Like nrl and soo games in other places it has very little to do with any strategic plan to grow the game and everything to do with who will pay the most to host it.

I would say it would underpin the game in Newcastle at junior level and boost the games image in France if it was to be played there. I would agree with you about Liverpool

Magic in Newcastle did wonders for the development of RL in the north east..and then some bright spark decided to move it...

I think splitting up the venues might be the answer...have day one at one stadium and day two at another stadium..

Imagine day one in Newcastle and day two in Barcelona or Toulouse..
