too many family distractions, people on holidays - music festivals -car bike shows- bbqs-weddings-etc etc too many other choices- lets get back to a Saturday slot where the only thing to do is go down to Wembley for the final

The CC final was always played on a bank holiday weekend prior to SL since the inception of May Day as a holiday.

Theses gonna be 80,000+ fans there...what you whinging at..

Plus what i never realised is the actual date is nearest to the date RL was born..29th august 1895...

I think for that reason alone we should never move the final from this weekenvd every year

Come on Spud, you know better than anyone that there will be no more than 65,000 in the stadium. The last Old Wembley final between Leeds and London had an actual 80,000 crowd.

there will be loads of vast empty spaces, prob a 45000 crowd in reality, club and coach trips have nosedived due to playing on this weekend

Lol you are a joker. Might get closer to full on a "normal" weekend but the official attendance is what it is, the stadium have no reason to lie. And the final i went to in 2012 what i could see in the stands certainly reflected the announced attendance.

Cracking stadium, i have often wondered could the rfl initiate some sort of double header there during the regular season? Would most likely only ever happen if magic weekend ceased

You guys do realise that the official attendance is around 17,000 more than what are actually in the ground right? The RFL get money from the Club Wembley seats regardless of whether they turn up or not, and there's usually no more than a thousand or two there. So say 2,000 do turn up, an 81,000 crowd would still only be around 65/66k actual people.

There sid not seem like 25k empty seats when i was there in 2012 and being in the corner at the leeds end had a pretty good view of all sides.
