Centre Crisis

This position has caused us no end of problems for years where do we go this year after 5 rounds our best centre Leutele is gone basically for the season and he was only just making the position his.

Pom - Well he will be Pom hot and cold never knowing what you will get
Mills - He came up and did basically nothing
M.Wright - Tried and failed
J.Wright - Dosent deserve crack at centre showed nothing on wing
Bakuya - Played well when came on at centre vs Warriors worth a go, can offload as well
Gordon - Do we move him from fullback if we do, can Gardner basically stand up again at the back
Moroko - Is off contract end of year, is he a chance this season
Feki - Another off contract this year, is he a chance this season

The question is we need to sort the issue out asap to have any chance this year

There is no centre crisis. It is a symptom of other problems. Every centre for 5 years has now been sun standard due to our style of play not who is playin there.

Our lack of attack has nothing to do with our centers or wingers. They have long been starved of quality ball. The problem is our forwards and ball hogging captain.
Firstly our hookers are rabble they fail to make quick meters from dummy half.
Secondly Gallen as much as we love the bloke he is doing more damage then good. He needs to move to the front row or leave. We have more then capable second rowers and locks in the team.

The best end to a career was vangana coming to us and playing outside Phil 'can't pass' Bailey

A poor structure can make the best ordinary.

I reckon' you could put Billy Slater and Michael Jennings in our side and we'd still be struggling to score points.

As predicted we are missing Colin Best. Not only could he break the line but more important is that he set up others. Very few modern day centres are creative. Take Lawerence and Jennings for example who both are unable to create something. Lyon is the only creative centre in the game that is why he is by far the best centre. They are all just basically hole runners.

This isn't the hookers fault either.

We have the competition's slowest play the balls. Every time our players are hit by a defender, they turn around and attempt to walk backwards in an effort to get further metres - but this makes it easier for the defence to turtle our players.

It's not just one or two, it's almost the entire team - so have they been trained to do this? If so, why? It slows our attack, does not allow our team to get a roll on and then does not give space for our edge runners (id love to say outside backs, but it's either graham or lewis who ends up with the ball not our outside backs).

We have four key problems:
- Slow play the balls/constantly being turtled.
- Horrible kicking game - rare to find grass. This can also because of pressure from the defence given time to see due to the play the ball speed.
- We never seem to nail the last pass - it's as if they panic to get rid of the ball in the last pass and throw a shocker.
- We are slow to react to drop balls. Every time a drop ball occurs, our players stop and wait for the referee rather than urgently cleaning up the ball to prevent the opposition getting the ball in broken play.

Unfortunately, I'm not convinced this will be rectified anytime soon. The game this year gives advantage to those with quick play the ball speeds, and we are behind the 8 ball.

Frenzy.

I agree too. Colin was a very good centre. The only big flaw in his game was, as a winger, he did have a tendency to come in to defend, leaving a corridor down the sideline for his opposite number.

If we have cap space, let's talk to Maurice Blair's manager. He's have to be sick of playing reggies.

Secondly, and I have said this before and I will probably get shot down for this but I am yet to be convinced about Flanno as a coach.

Rumour today that Stewart Mills is being chased by Dragons and Cowboys and that we are in no rush to re-sign him

Mills on the way out of Cronulla?
The Sharks are in danger of losing boom centre Stewart Mills to a rival club next season. The local junior has caught the eye of Cowboys coach Neil Henry and Dragons coach Steve Price. The Sharks have baulked at offering Mills a new deal until Todd Carney's negotiations are completed. The Dragons see him as an ideal replacement for veteran centre Matt Cooper to boost an area they have struggled in since Mark Gasnier retired
