Still, at least this year we've had a respite from the usual every-second-week-a-Parramatta-game syndrome.

At the time it would have made sense. 6 Weeks ago I would have thought Eels v Cowboys clash might decide 8th position, so I cannot blame channel 9 for thinking the same thing.
At least someone can see it with a bit of sense.

Storm v Sea Eagles would have been nice but they both have been on TV a lot lately.
I think the Broncos v Warriors should have been the Friday Night game TBH because the Warriors have not been on FTA all year!

I'm surprised the Bulldogs/Penrith game didn't rate a mention - a team with an already secure position against a team with (most likely) nothing left to play for after missing the finals the prior week. Ah well. I'll be at the game... matters little to me..

Eddie wants to promote AFL does he not?

Do you honestly think Eddie has anything to do with scheduling of Friday night rugby league?

and no, i don't think he wants to promote AFL especially when it's televised on TV considering his station only have the rights for 2 more weeks ;-)

The Warriors haven't been on Nine since round one 2004 I think. Although I could be wrong, we may have had another Nine game in the early rounds of 04.

The Warriors were last on Channel 9 in Round 6 2004, which was the last Warriors/Bulldogs game at Westpac Stadium in Wellington.

That truly is a farce IMO. They have played well in seasons since have they not? Ah well. Stoopid NRL.

Yep.

Warriors/Broncos would have been a great match I suspect. A semi finalist against a team would will be either 8 from their last 11 including one loss in golden point, or 7 from their last 11.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, Nein has their favourites, and the Warriors aren't one of them. If Nein had their way it'd be back to a 14 team competition.

P!ssweak.

I'd rather the Warriors vs Broncos tbh. Sneak preview of an '07 powerhouse.

Very true... I can't wait to see the Warriors turn it up next year!

And i'll laugh my head off next year if the Warriors are a top side and the only time they'll break Nein coverage is if they make the finals.

When did the Cowboys get that token game against the Tigers because on or either of them looked like making the finals and Nein didn't want to look like merkins? Was it 2004?

 Yeah that was the one at Campbelltown in R24 for 80's week IIRC. Hilarious stuff... but yeah, the Nein selection process is a joke. They got this weekend right though.

That's the match where Ray Warren began his love affair with Matty Bowen..."He's good this kid...who is he?"

He's outlandish sometimes Rabs - Matthew Chalk, he goes good this kid...

I loved his call for the 2003 semi final for the Warriors and Dogs when the Dogs took the field "The Grand Finalists that should have been that never was", who promptly got towelled 48-22 by the obvious grand finalists that were but should never have been.

Other than that, he's not too bad.

 Rip into the bloke and then backpedal, you're as bad as Rabs himself, his call against Morris from the Dragons last week "A good winger would have caught that...*realises harshness*...well he is a good winger!:sarcasm: "
