I'm sorry bt you have to laugh at the Cas result. I know the Fev fans around me were on Sunday.

Time to get rid of them in the next round of licenses.

Wire vs Giants, good memories of the last time we played them in the cup, but its gonna be a tough one.

Leeds looked ominous, the nice conditions suited them down to the ground and they will be tough to beat from here on in.
Good wins for Barrow, Cru and Quins.

I thought that ws an aweful game. Despite some of the names on show and reps they all brought with them from NRL, neither team wanted to tackle, to attack properly or to hold onto the ball!!

Thats a game!!

Shame Wire just signed Hodgson for 2 years to possibly replace Mathers.

Why do you Poms all sit behind the goals? It's not soccer you know...

Maybe its a cultural thing. Why do rugby league fans sing in the UK? But not in Australia? Pretty easy answer to that: cultural differences!

And Teddyboy, you live in the UK, maybe you could enlighten people instead of asking that question.

Maybe the CC has run it's course just like the FA cup.

I think the CC doesn't really interest fans until you get to the later stages. Crowd numbers are sure to increase now. That coupled with the games being held in places with low support when the games on telly.

Also you have to buy tickets for the games. A lot of people have spent there rugby budget on a season ticket.

Miguel: I grew up standing behind the goal, you can see attacking and defensive lines easier. Also its tradition. Me and my mates always used to meet in the same part of the terrace, and it was at the end. Don't mess with tradition!!

Away fans tend to go behind the goal as the stand there is smaller and there are fewer away fans than home fans.

Also a lot of Rugby fans also follow Football.

Personally, and 99% of rugby fans in Australia and NZ would agree as can be seen on any television broadcast, sitting closer to the sideline is a much, much better option. I have sat a few times up the ends, and it is interesting to see what goes on, but the lack of depth perception means that it can be quite confusing. In any case it is interesting that the Poms sit up the ends - but it doesn't help the TV coverage showing empty seats on either side!!!

Yeah, it looks better on telly, and its probably easier to see whats going on at the side. i completely agree with you. :D

But i grew up watching from the end, its what i am used to, you can see the gaps and where people are running etc. More important though you don't have to move your head left and right to follow the play at the end, its always just the other side of your beer! :D

At home i stand on the side now, as its a new ground and the end is for away fans. Better atmosphere at an end though due to it being smaller.

You Poms are nuts. No way can you read the game better at the ends. At the ends, you cant see the sweeping backling moves forming, can only see the one side of impacts in tackles, harder to pick up forward passes.

Yall are crazy I tellz ya, CRAZY!

Disagree. A cup competition is necessary, especially one that incorporates teams outside the SL. Maybe the important thing would be to take it off the BBC - or perhaps not even televise live until CC Final. On a side note, totally agree about FA Cup running its course - time to get rid of the League Cup.

Yeah but you get neck ache at the side. At the end its all in front of you. Anyway who wants to read the game, your suppost to go to drink beer, insult the other lot (even if some of them are mates of yours) and cheer when your big b*stard hits theres really hard!!

Words like YYYEEEAAAHHH!!!, UUURRRGGGHHH!!, UG UG UG, RIP HIS HHHHEEEAADDD OFF!!!, KILL KILL KILL!!! are to be used at rugby, not 'ooo thats a nice overlap', or 'what a lovely set of hands he has'. :D

As for the cup, keep it in, you get to play different teams and a change of focus is good. Nothing is better than knock out Rugby.

BBC gives us useful country wide exposure. Hopefully the next round of matches on telly (Bradford vs Warrington and Leeds vs Wigan) will have more fans and be better games.

I would like to point out that Wireman's view do not represent those of British RL fans in any way :)
