the best result for english rugby league would be if st helens and wigan were both knocked out and it was warrington vs huddersfield for the final

Indeed it would be. I can't see Huddersfild beating St Helens but I think Warrington stand a very good chance against Wigan.

It will also be very interesting to see how the referee's perform. A lot of people think there is a lot of bias against teams from outside the top 4, so hopefully the referee's will be fair and consistent.

I think you are wrong there. Although it would be great for those sides involved, the Final would be an all-time low in terms of national interest. Huddersfield wouldn't sell enough tickets either, meaning we would have to resort to buy one get one free offers like the Union cup final.

Saints are the most attractive team to watch and are always beatable. For me the best final would be Saints V Warrington. It would sell out twice over and would be a fantastic event.

I can't help feeling Wigan's name is on it this year though. They have walked through thus far with an incredibly easy run, in addition to having their key players as fresh as a daisy due to their late introductions to this season.

Well said Knights. Fartown/Wire is the best outcome for the game in general.

Saints may will win this game, but last season we showed that we can match them so it's just down to who perfoms better on the day.

I think if the Giants got to the CC final there would be an explosion of intrest in the team in the town, after all when was the last time Huddersfield were present at a major final in either Football or Rugby?

Challenge Cup Final losers and Championship winners in 1962, since when we've hit hard times. But we're back.

As for the puffball - I'm not sure but probably the 1930s, when Herbert Chapman was manager. In the 1950s, Bill Shankley offered to build a team to win the league, but the board wouldn't give him the cash. So he went to Liverpool and as they went into Europe the noddies went into the 4th division.
