Just was wondering what Storm fans thought of him. He had some early wraps when he started to break into first grade, but I have heard when at North Devils the coach hated him. Apparently he couldn't get a run because he can't defend. Basically he was a fringe Storm player last year but whenever dropped to the Devils would sit on the bench.

Thoughts? Feedback?

he seems like a nice guy but i dont rate him at all - he CANNOT break a line, or score a try (i remember last yr a game against the broncos he was 10 metres from the try line running with no defender within 15 metres and he just dropped the ball - i reckon he hasnt scored a try for the strom in a nrl game, only in trials)
plus his defence is average at best - penrith went to his side every time last week as they knew that was their best chance to score. hes poor all round.

for some reason bellamy loves him - i pray he sees the light (especially after saying in his press conference that he needs to change the teams attacking structures) - he needs to play tomane in the centres with inglis

tomane is 190cm, 100 kg, but stong and can fend off defenders whereas chambers doesnt know how to use his frame. plus tomane can make a break and run 100 metres to score a try - like last week in the u20s - made 192 metres, 3 line breaks and scored 2 tries - kids a gun

bellamy drop chambers to central coast for the season and leave him there as cover for possible injuries and play tomane every week!

He is a really nice kid kells but I think he is lazy and lacks confidence. When things aren't going his way his head drops and he wont do anything to try and lift, he will stand around waiting for someone else to do something.
I think a lot of his problem when he was playing for North Devils is that he was lazy, he should've been an outstanding player for them but never put in the hard yards.

The game Tomane played for us starting at centre showed how much better he is than Will, he makes effective runs and defend a lot better than Will. Our right side with Will and Tina were getting carved against the Panthers.

The coach at Norths liked him alot.

It was only after he came back from his 1st grade debut that Wayne Trevalen (?) was disappointed in his attitude. He expected him to take his game to another level but didnt. Hate is way to strong a word.

Anyway his defence is the only thing keeping him in 1st grade at atm, so wtf are you on about. Dont include the Broncos and he's missed 1 tackle all year

Belle if your looking to blame someone for the right-hand defence V the Panthers look at the man inside him Cooper Cronk, he was making terrible decisions so Will had to follow him in.

Furthermore Tomane has missed 6 takcles in less then a full game off football. He still has work to do defensivley. Dont confuse hitting hard with being in the right position and making the right decsions.

Not on about anything, haven't seen enough of Chambers to make a call on it. Just a friend of mine played for the Devils and stated the coach thought Chambers was a lazy and poor defender. Just saying what I was told.

Wanted to hear a few Storm fan opinions on whether this was the case since Chambers is a first grader these days.

never rated him, still dont and cant be happier hes going to rah rah at the end of the year, tomane looks alot better and looks like he can improve alot more, chambers is at his peak i believe and just cant cut it, id rather see pita maile or sam joe in the 1st grade side ahead of this goose, just on maile, i watched him in the 20s last week and damn! wat a defender and can pop a pass, maybe a smokey for a crack at 1st grade, looks the goods

I don't rate Chambers and never did last year...he stands off tackles and tends to let the attacking player go past him before tackling him side on which allows for gaps and offloads.

Attacking wise he is not a geniune try scorer and rarely busts the line.

i remember hearing our CEO brian waldron at the start of the season saying chambers would be playing origin for QLD this yr LOL!

QLD has slater, hunt, hodges, folau, inglis, boyd, tate (now injured), bowen, tonga and he reckons chambers can play origin for QLD!

what a joke - thank god hes going to union - hope he like defending cos thats all he'll be doing at the reds lol

I think he had potential last year - but stuffed his knee - and doesn't want to risk himself.

Re Bellamy's love of Chambers - Bellamy always likes players that train hard as he expects the same on game day. My guess is that Chambers trains really hard but doesn't have the confidence for 1st grade.

I think he is now a bench player at best - I much prefer Tomane and Isa.

Forget Chambers he is a clown. he has played first grade long enough and still can't impress. Isa is crap too, he is as bad as chambers...tomane is the goods!
