Well thats what the NRL would've got from last nights 'entertainment spectacular'

Absolute sh*te. Why play random pop music at a grand final? That is so, so embarrassing

Don't get me wrong, i liked seeing the army exhibition but the rest was absolutely horrible

Hope the NRL enjoys its $4.50 change from that show. sh*te if times are that tough for the NRL im willing to chip in a greenback or two for next year

I'm sure that sh*te Football Entertainment Shows R Us Pty Ltd are laughing all the way to the bank this morning

And I paid over $100 for my ticket last night. I think I have the right to ask for something more

Two sides to the story here.

Who goes to the grand final for the pre game entertainment, i thought we were all Football fans.

However having said that, it did leave a bit to be desired. Pete Nuffy nuff said.

Natalie Whatever her last name song the anthem well and is a crackin sort though!

He's not my cup of tea, but Pete Murray is a top singer and would have cost the NRL an absolute fortune.

The Veronicas would have been cheaper, but I do like their music.

Remember the NRL can't hire someone that everyone in the crowd would have liked.

oh i have nothing against murray but lets face it, he is little more then a run of the mill aussie actor. A dime a dozen

Surely just for once we could snare a big act.

what were the white balls running around the ground for? huh? they wern't even explained at the ground

the game is the entertainment...the rest is just fill.
Who gives rats...i would rather hang outside until the teams are ready..just soak up the atmosphere and rejioce with fellow fans and have some fun with the opposition fans...the outer ground is where the true pre game entertainment is.

Last night I was like, hmmm lets get on with the game. At one stage when the veronica's was one I can hear half the crowd booing, probably cause you can hardly hear the vocals and they were bored. Poor sound at the stadium.

Also Pete Murray is talented, but not the sort of act you want at a pre-game entertainment. Bring in Billy Thorpe, AC/DC, Living End, some who can lift the crowd before hand.

The only good bit was Natalie Bassingwaite singing the anthem. =P~ Didnt know she was that good of a singer.

You don't need someone to lift the crowd. It's a Grand Final. The crowd lifts itself.

And those 3 you mentioned will go into the basket of "not my cup of tea".

As I said you can't please everyone.

GO ACDC! They could fire up the majority of the crowd like no-one else! People can bag it all they want, but when I was at the 2001 Grand Final and Barnesy and his daughter were singing 'Simply the Best', there were at least 85,000 people on their feet and singing along, it was an awesome build-up to the game!

Then you can forget about entertainment all together, "Tonights pre game entertainment, the crowd".

Its a Rugby League event, as Knightmare said you need to have an awesome build up to a match like that.

I like Pete Murray, but his style of music is not suited to a stadium gig.

INXS have just finished their reality tv show, Rockstar INXS, to pick their new lead singer.

The NRL would have really scored a coup if they could have showcased the return of INXS to Australia for their first big live stadium gig with their new lead singer, JD Fortune.

INXS certainly can handle a big stadium gig. Not only would we have had some decent pre-match entertainment, but the return of INXS would no doubt have gained international publicity as well for the Grand Final and the NRL.

I didn’t go last night for the pre game entertainment. If the NRL was paying anything for Pete Murray, they were getting ripped off. He is very average performer. I saw last week as the NRL promoting Peter Murray’s latest album, which I won’t be racing out to get. If the NRL payed $100k for pre-game entertainment, they would be better to just let the game do the talking and spend the money on two extra development officers. The Veronica’s are an average band as well. I missed the half time entertainment as I was out the back having a few beers with some mates. I don’t usually agree with Ray Hadley, but also thought the pre game entertainment was average.

My biggest complaint of the night would go to Telstra Stadium and the guy who looks after the video replay. The stadium takes the live feed from Channel 9. When a try is scored, after Channel 9 comes back after an ad break, Channel 9 picks up the conversion and then replays the try, the bloody stadium puts a photo up of the goal kicker on the video screen for at least 5 seconds after the kick, which cuts into the replay or in the case of the Laffranchi try eliminates the replay. If the NRL want to get more people to games, they need to offer the same service as what the TV audience gets, with video replays of tries and radio stations covering all games (so the fans get hear the call at the game). The NRL does not need to market the Grand Final for punters who want to see the pre game entertainment. The main game entertainment in most cases, is always outstanding,
