The NRL will bring in this new kick off rule and afterwards all their highlight packages to promote the game will show guys charging into the defence of the kick off like they do now with shoulder charges and brawls. Both banned but always shown especially during origin.

Report that the.Nrl might change the kick off rule.
if you kick it over the opposition 20 metre line on the full you give away a 7 tackle set.

For me I don't like it if it goes ahead.

I would like to see a drop kick used at kick-off and a ruling that gives the receiving side a 7 tackle set if their player catches the ball on the full form behind the try line.

The NRL have come out and said no rule changes for 2025 just focus on getting the current rules officiated consistently which is a good thing. Lets see how that goes.

The one change they should make which is no game rule change but with officiating the game and that is the Bunker cannot rule on anything anymore unless it is 100% obvious. If it is 50/50 it goes down to the man in the middle and he makes the call. The ref can ask for as many angles as possible so he can make the call and the bunker's job is to show him the angles he needs to make the call and that is it. They are only used as a tool and not to officiate. Let 1 man do the job and if he screws up so be it, not have multiple guys looking at the same thing and 1 person over ruling the other.

I just wish they would make them rise to their feet with the ball, place it on the ground and roll the ball back with the foot in every single play-the-ball. Every time. It is the rule. It is a very good and fair rule. It is not hard to adjudicate.

Failure to do so punished with a turnover. Is this so hard?
