Channel 7 and 10

OK, I know this may be a weird question, but is Channel 7 and Channel 10 out for anyone else? It just went out about 5 minutes ago.

With the storms I thought our main aerial might have been struck by lightning... but we also have a TV that has an independant indoor aerial... and surely enough, Channels 7 and 10 aren't working on that either.

Am I the only one?

My dad rang and told me some spectacular storms are moving through Sydney as of the last few hours and he reckons they're on their way up here. I'll have to go and batton down just so he won't be able say, "I told you storms were coming," if something big hit us.

EDIT: So in answer to your question: I don't know.

Same here. 7 good, 10 not.

Spectacular is right, you should see some of the lightning goin on here. Maybe I should turn my computer off... People say you should turn it off in an electrical storm. That true?

Its all been cool where i'am and don't worry there has been nothing worth watching except a new Simpsons episode which was cool.

The lightning is amazing, it's going off like every 10 seconds.

Yeah, they say you should unplug your computer during an electrical storm. But my modem got fried three years ago, and they say lightning never strikes twice, so I'm not phased.

Channel 10 was all right here when The Simpsons was on. Couldn't care less if 7 was out. Probably had another lifestyle program on anyway.

The Simpsons is still the best show ever. The ending tonight was a bit whacked though!

I got heaps of Lightning, but no thunder. It pissed down for awhile too. Nothing really serious though, which was disappointing.

They say it, but it is far from true! Unless, of course, it killed you the first time and you got a proper burial....

So to sum it up so far... lightning can strike twice!

Also... the channels have UPS on their HQ's and transmitters and shat, so they must have got hit badly!

It doesn't take much to fry your computer. A lightning strike on the phone line or on the electical line can fry your computer from the modem or hard disk out.

Knight smurf lost hers in the newcastle storms a week or so ago. And I heard a guy on the cb radio last night, same thing, and poor sucker, he had no backups.

Of course a computer hard drive can fritz of its own accord, without the help of a lightning strike. And burgulars are bad for your data too. They take the whole box.

I guess it depends how much you care about what is on your computer. I unplugged mine last night while the electrical storms were on.

The area from just north of the bridge to Glebe lost power (completely) at bout 11 last night taking the two stations with it. 7 got their backup system up and working within a few minutes - 10 took their time.

Any decent schmo will wear a band and earth themselves while working on a computer. An electric shock via static electricity can cause damage...

To hell with ten and seven.
We had rolling blackouts and when i came home from Work today i found my 5 month old LG DVD Player has packed it in.

Im thinking with all the power outs it has short circuted the bloody thing.
