I didn't see a thread on this so i'd thought i'd start one.

I hope Liverpool punish them for 6!

Does anyone know if this is televised???

Be a good hit out for Chelsea considering they have not had any serious matches.

A cup is a cup so i expect a decent game

Looking forward to it!

Will Roman's roubles buy another trophy?

Or will it be another classy Reds victory like in the FA Cup and ECL semi-finals?

Hopefully it will be a good match, although neither team are known for being great entertainers, and usually the standard of football in this match can be quite poor being the first proper match for a while.

Wasn't a bad game.

Liverpool looked sharper, more match fit and basically dominated all over the paddock. They played with good tempo and a fair degree of pace for a Pre Season match.

Chelsea looked to be in the Early Stages of Pre Season. Very Rusty Display. Shevchenko showed some World Class Touches, he looks about 12 classes better then dubious Drogba. Essien was a monster in midfield. Terry, Lampard, Ferrieia, Bridge, Carvalho, Robben and co all looked very rusty.

Anyway now thats out of the way, Roll on Round 1. Let the serious stuff begin.

It WAS on fox nevcost... it was on ESPN, which is a Fox channel.

As for the result, eat sh*t Chelsea. I know it's just a glorified friendly, but that doesn't matter. They are the most hated team in the world, and are ruining world football. The more they lose, the better. They are scum of the highest order. Once Roman gets tired of his plaything, they will be in so much debt that they will have to shut the doors. I cannot wait for that day.

Scum > Chelsea

Incredible goal from Riise! Showed some terrific athletic ability to run all the way up the pitch solo and strike his shot so powerfully and accurately from distance. Looks like Liverpool's preseason fitness training is going to pay dividends.

One against the MLS and now against Liverpool. Or was there a game in between?

1-1 with Celtic. Now STFU.

Anyway, back to the game.....

Shevchenko will nab 20 goals this season, easily, after watching lastnight. Carragher looked out of his depth against him. His speed off the mark is so quick, so deceptive and his ball control is awesome. He was Chelseas best. Nailed one chance with ease. Kinda disappeared about the 70th minute mark, but did alot of running the first 60 mins.

For Liverpool, Riise looked like a man on a mission. Defenders were backing off and he unleashed a shot about 15 yards behind the 18 yard box, great goal, all started from Liverpools box.

The game also highlighted that Makelele has to be in starting 11. The area Riise ran into to score, that goal would have been where Makelele would have back-tracked. Ballack or Essien will have to make way. The only way all 4 (Lamps, Essien, Ballack & Makelele) play is if Sheva plays alone up-front, with Cole or Robben on the wing/support for Shevchenko.

Liverpool look like they have adopted Chelseas play and recruited pace in Gonzalez & Pennant and thus have more width to their play on both sides of the flank. They will be Chelseas main challengers for sure. Looked very slick for a team at the start of the season.

The only real joy will be to see Chelsea lose the league title and Liverpool win it. But that's unlikely until Roman gets bored of investing his billions.
