One against the MLS and now against Liverpool. Or was there a game in between?
1-1 with Celtic. Now STFU.
Anyway, back to the game.....
Shevchenko will nab 20 goals this season, easily, after watching lastnight. Carragher looked out of his depth against him. His speed off the mark is so quick, so deceptive and his ball control is awesome. He was Chelseas best. Nailed one chance with ease. Kinda disappeared about the 70th minute mark, but did alot of running the first 60 mins.
For Liverpool, Riise looked like a man on a mission. Defenders were backing off and he unleashed a shot about 15 yards behind the 18 yard box, great goal, all started from Liverpools box.
The game also highlighted that Makelele has to be in starting 11. The area Riise ran into to score, that goal would have been where Makelele would have back-tracked. Ballack or Essien will have to make way. The only way all 4 (Lamps, Essien, Ballack & Makelele) play is if Sheva plays alone up-front, with Cole or Robben on the wing/support for Shevchenko.
Liverpool look like they have adopted Chelseas play and recruited pace in Gonzalez & Pennant and thus have more width to their play on both sides of the flank. They will be Chelseas main challengers for sure. Looked very slick for a team at the start of the season.
