Been a season ticket holder since 1982, when those years in the late 80s early 90s were there, you could gol to a game and know that they would give 110R% .

When they won you were over the moon, but you never thought about effort and application, it was ability and some poor coaching choices that held some of them back.

When Michael Speechley played for us it was a funny time, when he played well we won, whilst not often he was a good playert to watch

Chris Lawler was a gun little halfback that used to get played on the Wing because we bought.....wait for it....Gary Freeman!!!! and then he just got punted and went to QLD Cup i think??? never to be seen of again, very sad

Cameron Blair - didn't like him at first, then he grew to be like my favourite player totally for a couple of years, i had none him from Wests

what about Greg Drake - the big lumbering tank of a thing, think Scott Tronc (Cowboys, now ESL, now maybe coming back), but probably bigger, but less mobile if you get me ha ha

Dave Woods! Who knows how good that guy would have been if he stayed fit....

I think i left him out because he was my favourite EEL for so long, but he just could NOT take a trick with injury, he used to trip over the touchline at training and be out for 6 weeks ha ha

actually met him once out on the drink in Sydney, was a really down to erath, very humble bloke - he was a bit shocked that i knew who he was and had so much time for him

should have played for NSW and Australia........only ever got to County

Oh yeah, I didn't see him. (Need an eye check). He was always amongst it.

He only played a handful of games, but Louis Takairangi was a cult hero of mine.

We actually call the players by these names when they play these days. Except for crap players who we substitute for crappy old players (e.g. Tahu is Iva Ropati, wingers who drop the ball become Neville Glover etc)

I was in the stand that night against GB and it was one of the highlights of my life (yes i am sad) watching us win that night, Oudenryn winning that race was the icing on the cake for me!!!!

My favourite game of all time!

I know I got drunk and forgot to meet you to get the tape (twice!) but seriously I'd love to get a copy of it from you.

right, so Nifty dropped the ball in his whole career? it's a bit of an insult considering he was a local junior who played for Australia..

True, but geez that was an awful feeling when he dropped that ball. I was down that corner cheering like a lunatic when they looked like scoring and then total silence and disbelief, I was shattered for months. :(

Ahhh memories. I remember going to Henson Park one Sunday with my old man to watch Parra play the Roosters. There were about 1000 people at the game and I remember the eels warming up on the hill behind the score board. I remember seeing Mark Clinton and thinking 'How big is he'.

I remember Fatty was in reggies for the roosters and I'm pretty sure we flogged them that day.

Great great memories. I often think about that day.

I think the pass by Moran was just as ordinary as the attempt by Glover to take it.

he had that one great season in 1990 where he played over 20 games with us and was our best forward each week.

Matthew originally came from Weethalle. He is still involved with West Wyalong in Group 20. Matt was in a Country side that I managed in 1981. Played Country seconds. About 20 minutes before kickoff the Coach of the team (Johnny Armstrong) noticed Matt wasn't in the shed at Bruce Stadium. He sent me to find him..He was at the front gate waiting to give his parents their tickets to the match...Great bloke, Matty, has the biggest hands of anyone I know.
Good country boy. You could smell the gum leaves on him back then.
David Woods originally came from Rankins Springs a little country Village, between Goolgowi and Weethalle. Dave was a fantastic player whose career was 'cruelled' with injury. He finished after playing a season with Halifax in the ESL - a team that included former Australian players Robbie Beckett and Brett Goldspink.

At least you got over it. I'll bet Neville still has nightmares about it.
If I remember correctly, Neville scored three tries in his Test debut?****
I just checked his details...He only scored twice on debut V New Zealand

I remember little Tulsen Tollett ......weighed around 33kgs ....excelled in being rag-dolled around the field all day .
I only had 1 name for big ole Greg Drake - the fat log .....as big as a house but could barely get above lumbering pace .
