Chris Heighington has 2 years to run on his contract here, but that means nothing nowdays,he has english lineage and will not count as an import which makes him appealing to ESL clubs.

He's certainly better than Adrian f**king Purtell. You guys might as well give up the way you're going. Send us Jeffries and Kearney while you're at it. A kicking game and a few kick returns wouldn't go astray here at the moment.

I would not want Rihno going anywhere...I would keep him for 300k a season because he gives 100% every game and is a linespeed leader (ie. sets the linespeed for defence much like gibbs).

What we need is to be able to give him some breathers during the game so that he has the impact that he is capable of. A backrow of Lima, Rihno and Ellis with Dwyer to give a rest when necessary would be amazing.

This is assuming that Dwyer comes good...Fulton would be able to fill in on a rotation but I dont think would have the impact of the rotation above.

He apparently asked for release when shopped around a month or so ago, so that he could sign a deal with Penrith. Wests Tigers turned around and denied him a release.

I doubt he's signed with anyone, but in saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if I heard he had, given our clubs management this year.

It was close to happening, we were shopping him around to ESL but WT have now said he is going to remain a tiger for the remainder of his contract ....mind you Petre was a Panther for life one day , then the next he had signed with the broncos....

Unless the tigers have signed a marquee player for 2012 we dont know about and need cap space, he will not be going anywhere. Especially now we are one back rower down already in 2012.

It would be madness, Chris is probably our most consistent player, not a world beater, but you get 100% effort every week unlike a lot of his mates

I think Dwyers situation (unfortunate) has ensured Heighington a starting spot in the back row for 2012. This changes both Chris's & the Club's stance I would say?

Thats pretty much the nub of it. Might also explain why Fulton hasn't left the club yet. I dare say the Tigers have opted to hang onto him in the light of Dwyer's injury

RLW reports he had a clause inserted into his contract which allows him to leave from 2012. With a UK passport and at 28, you would imagine the opportunity to play in the Super League would be very attractive for him.

Sheens also once said it would be unfortunate for Chris not ever to play representative football. (im not going to include any city/country reps he may have done subsequently) He would have a chance playing for Great Britain-too many others ahead of the honest workhorse here for either Origin or Australia. That could be a motivation seeing he would qualify for them.

Humphreys said on air a few weeks back that NO player had any get out clauses in any contract it was bought up a couple of times in the interview and he confirmed it twice...I think he alluded to Noyce as being the one who operated like this ....

CH would not play for England unless Mac completely loses the plot (not that unlikely). With a back row of the class of Ellis, Burgess etc, he's not even in contention. More chance of playing for NSW.

Going to SL will not be as attractive an option in the next few years. Not only will Aus have more money, the tax options and exchange rate benefits no longer exist.

Considering Bradford have just signed Purtell though, they could be offering silly money. Remember when Fielden, Vainikolo etc made us look like schoolboys. What a fall from grace.

The article seemed to suggest the clause was inserted recently at the request of Heighington just in case he didn't like the new direction at the club.

How and why would a club "insert" such a new clause in a player's contract? Especially one that allows one party to unilaterally walk out on it, at their discretion. That scenario, effectively, is what we know as a "release".
