I am a Leeds Rhinos Fan. I ahve watched every game at home and most away. And I am surrounded by people who say Chris McKenna is crap. I personally think that he started slowly. Am I wrong or is he overrated? He seemed to play better in the second row, did he play there for you guys?

I think the problem here is that many Poms only appreciate `shiners'. Chris was not a `shiner'. You wouldn't see him doing flashy side-stepping runs and exiting kick and chase. But you'd often see him drawing in defenders to off load a money ball, or being on the spot to take the pass for a try AND he ALWAYS be right on the spot to STOP an opposition attack with his superb defence. The fact that Chris played for Australia and was a `star' with Cronulla bears testament to his worth. I'd have Chris McKenna back any time you blokes want to realease him.
Chris McKenna was a `worker' his value to both Cronulla and Australia was immense. If your mates want a shiner, why don't they take a look at another Chris - Chris Walker. He's as flashy as they come, but it's almost a dead certainty that he'll let in a try for every one he scores.
That's the difference. Chris McKenna's value was not so much in the tries he scored, but in his defence causing many more opposition attacking movements to break down.
Yes, Chris McKenna was a centre but later played 2nd row. I think he was switched back to the centres when ET retired? He can play both.

Haven't seen him play in England so can't comment on that, but believe me, when he hits 'em, they know all about it. I agree that sometimes you don't notice the impact he has, but opposition teams certainly did.

I think you notice him most when he's not there - if you know what I mean.

Mckenna's centre defence was definetly missed by the sharks this year...so if you don't want him send him straight back to the sharks..do not pass go..........please come home chris, you are a favourite son here

If McKenna was fit for the Preliminary Final against the Knights in '01 we would have won easily.

Not sure about 'easily,' but we would have won. Hymie was the bloke I felt the most sorry for after that game, they were all shattered but all he could do was just sit on the sidelines watching it happen. The look on his face when the team got back to the club said it all

maybe we can swap emelio and jarrad for mckenna

I reckon we will see a new Emilio this year Millers.
I reckon he's got the goods. He plays whats in front of him & loves a bit of space.
By mid next year I reckon there is a good chance we will all be thinking differently.

Mckenna was fit for the preliminary final in 2002 against he warriors and had a shocker. I hated him so much for that, same as nick graham. Didnt sort of want to be there. Call me tough but he has had his day.

I enjoyed the comments about emilio - sare you serious blacktip or just pulling the the other one. I dont mind his attack but his defence and handling errors were off like barry pierce's lunch

I saw him play in a GF a few years ago & you would swear they are different blokes.
I think he did not adjust to the Anderson style very well.
IF Ricky thinks he's got the goods, then I think he's got the goods.

If you guys don't want McKenna, we'd gladly take him off your hands.

A better second rower then a Centre ( Like Bailey) but a good centre nonetheless.

Not a traditional Game breaker, but Can and has broken many a game. Ala Origin 2 last year.

McKenna did alright this season. He's a very solid looking player but no he didn't set the world on fire. I'm very glad that Leeds pinched him from under Hull's nose and we ended up with Colin Best. He had an outstanding season and was joint second highest try scorer in superleague. What Anderson had against him I'll never know.
