My thoughts on the McKenna vs Bailey debate on who was the better
McKenna was far better than Bailey is in either centre or second row and if he could play for us again next year he would put Bails back to the bench

Nah, that's not me. It's Mitsuko, my favourite character from 'Battle Royale'. If you've never seen this movie then you've missed out. It's absolutely brilliant.

I definitely agree with mos of what is being said here. He is solid in defence and he is hard as nails. But he did start slowly this year as he looked like he was injured. I think that a lot of fans here just assume that anybody that comes from the NRL is gonna be just the mutts nuts.
You can keep Colin Best Spooky. He's shite. One try scored two given away. Fast but not bright!
BTW what has happened to your season?

Besty scored as many as Calderwood (and a damn sight more than McKenna) - we could debate all day about who let the most in. ;-)

As for our season, we dropped off at the end as we almost always do. I'd like to say it was down to our terrible injury problems, but to be honest we still could have made the play-offs. We just underperformed too many times. Good job I don't have high expectations.

You lot must have been gutted to miss out on the GF by a whisker.

Emphasis on the "was".

Bailey is young and will improve (esp. with the Test experience he's getting) McKenna is at the end of his career and will get slower and get more injuries. Basically it's pointless comparing them.

I'd love McKenna to come back tho - he and Bailey together would be terrific and add to our depth.

BTW has anyone heard of Paul Mellor - another second row-cum-centre. I thought the loss of him and McKenna together was one of our most glaring weaknesses. What happened to him?

I think that the gap between the NRL and the UK SuperLeague is closing (which can only be a good thing for world RL). The upcoming Test series is going to be very interesting - don't be surprised at an upset.

Spooky - distraught doesn't even come close. But, I reckon we can only learn from it. It is interesting that our close season signings seem to have been done already. Looking forward to Bai coming.
Think that Calderwood would have scored more than Best had he not dropped one over the line inexplicably and put a foot in touch for no reason on another occasion. Leave you with that thought.
Cronulla look like having a good team next year, but this season was a shocker for you fellas.
