"We can't condone that kind of behaviour and he won't be considered for the first Origin game."
Does this mean he might be chosen for the second or third game?

Yes, he might be picked for those games.

Chris Walker gets my vote for moronic act of the week

That's a big call being so early in the week. I'm sure well see the US or British soldiers trying to beat that mark during the coming week

The second issue that raised an eyebrow or two was the fact Queensland are even in training. Am I the only league follower unaware the Maroons are "in camp"? There are at least three weeks until Origin One - they certainly are keen.

The Origin camp is mainly for the players to get to know each other & the coach.

And for the coach to explain to the players who get picked in the squad, what he wants & expects from them.

Yep, you must be one of the only league followers that was unaware of this. It has only been happening since about the early 80's.

The QLD training today consisted of the players playing tennis.

Just heard on channell 10 news that Walker could be facing a fine of 10% of his Roosters salary plus an alcohol ban for the rest of the season. Will most likely also be stood down from this weekends game. He obviously enjoys a drink so I know which of these punishments will hurt him the most. Maybe he can ring Julian Oneill and share a few stories. What a tosser.

Channel 7 news has just reported that another QLD player allegedly urinated at the Casino on Sunday night. The Casino declined to comment.

Also in The Courier Mail this morning it was reported that another player broke curfew with Walker and he has been disciplined, but not dropped from the squad.

Maroons check video for errant stars

Queensland Rugby League officials yesterday had security videotape from Brisbane's Treasury Casino checked to ensure Chris Walker was the only Maroons player who misbehaved in camp on Sunday night.

As Broncos coach Wayne Bennett faced reporters on Lockyer's behalf at Red Hill, radio stations in Brisbane and Sydney were receiving calls from listeners claiming Walker had not been alone when he broke curfew to go out in Fortitude Valley in the early hours of Monday.

QRL general manager Ross Livermore responded to the allegations by calling the casino.

"There are people saying that a player was turfed out of the casino and other players were out with Chris," said Livermore last night. "I called the casino and they told me there was no complaint against a Queensland player and no Queensland player was ejected from the casino.

"Team management also has no evidence that other players were out with Chris after the [1.15am] curfew. They [the casino] looked at the security video and there was no evidence of any of our players causing any trouble."

NRL officials yesterday called Livermore over the reports and are so far satisfied with what they were told. Livermore said Lockyer and Walker would not be replaced in the extended Queensland squad and there had been no discussion on who would be captain.
