Just been informed that Petero Civoniceva has failed a fitness test and has been ruled of this friday's test match between Australia and New Zealand.

The Broncos forward was named at second rower along side Nathan Hindmarsh, but has been ruled due to a hamstring injury he suffered against the Cowboys on Saturday.

Bulldogs captain Steve Price has been named as his replacement, and its likely that Trent Waterhouse will play second rower and Steve Price start on the bench.

Its been 5 years since Steve Price last played in a test match, (1999 Vs New Zealand, Stadium Australia), shouldve made the Kangaroo Tour ahead of Mason and Villasanti.

Agree it is about time!!! He is by far the best forward in the game and O'Meley not far behind him...I dont understand why the selectors bullet went stright through the Bulldogs? I mean nothing about the accusations have been confirmed so why leave us out? For Pricey to get in just because someone got injured is an outrage,he should of been there in the first place even in the number 10 over Joal Clinton. Bloody selectors got no idea but atleast now the team is looking a little bit better. 8) SHOW EM HOW IT'S DONE PRICEY

Off the top of my head, Kennedy, Bailey, Webcke, Wiki, Hindmarsh at the very least.

Puletua, Gulavao, morely and that other pommy fellah. Price is bloody good player though, and deserves to be in there.

Price will go good, even though Petero is a top player, Australia dont really lose anything with Price replacing him.

Call me crazy if you like, but shouldn't a second rower be called into the squad to play in the second row? I know it's a strange theory, but it just might work.

That said, Price is a top player and should do well.

I thought that they might have considered Kennedy now, as apperently he is likely to be fit. Hats off to Price though, no more deserving player than him

Front row, second row - what's the difference really? Players switch between the 2 in club games all the time (eg. Civoniceva.Meyers, Carlaw)

Yeh exactly, its not like Civoniceva is a traditional backrower anyway so its not going to change anything getting rid of him

I know he has his knockers, but Civoniceva is a power house, and has a great work rate.

Steve Price is a top player to be able to call on, but Civoniceva is a big loss

Price is in the Top 3 forwards in the game for sure.

Deserved to be in the Test side, would have been in my selected Test side.

Has been so for the last few years. It's a joke that he has not been in the team for 5 years! We all know how moronic selectors are though.
