Do you know for a fact he hasn't signed with AFL.?

no bbe, I was being fasicious (sp) ..

I still believe he'll stay, infact I wouldn't even be surprised if he's already signed and Ossie is picking the right time to release the news, ie: this sundays AGM or when he goes back to training..

I'm really scratching my head at what the fuss is about..:?

This article states the four year contract includes next year , however from what I read before it was a 4 year contract plus next year.

Anyhow if we lose him we can make a play for Thurston and move Kris or Mortimer to fullback

Without being facetious....he is signed until 2010 anyway. What he does then, he does then....!!!!

Funny thing is, even if he does sign, his then contract would expire by 2013......right when GWS is supposed to start up.

sorry Pete, you must of mistaken me for someone who gave a sh*t, I'm far from jumping off the gap and have been basicaly saying all along that no one player is bigger than the club.

My only possible concern in all of this is: will Hayne really be worth $500,000 per year? If he plays like he did during the last few months of 2009, then yes, he probably is worth that money. But if he doesn`t........?
And for that money he`ll want to be consistently good, too.

agreed

we had Vella and Cayless signed on some pretty big coin after 2001 IIRC and neither ever seemed to have a year as close to that again

it's a big gamble based on half a season

Vella is a perfect case in point. His form forever after he signed that deal was appalling.

he also won rookie of the year just like Hayne IIRC

Yeh, I think you're right.
Somehow, imo, I don't think Hayne's form would stoop that low, unless of course the whole team is struggling, which was the case early this season when he was playing 5/8th.

Did I hear correct today at AGM that Hayne is meant to put pen to paper in the next week?
