Mascord and the Wok are really giving it to News limited lackey David Gallop at the moment over expansion and News Limited's agendas on the ABC.

A great listen, tough questions, Gallop is s.t ruggling.

Great effort Warren Ryan, great effort Mascord.

Anyone else hear it?

We have a long term plan
Increase crowds
Increase popularity

No specifics just generalities. The intersting bit was before that when the Tigers CEO said they hadn,t seen the plan

I don't blame Gallop. I believe his hands are tied and he can't really do much at all. If he was in charge of a fully ARL controlled NRL, he would make things happen.

WE ARE ALL NEWS LTD LACKEYS! :x

But in the interview he said that he pushes through decisions even if the are unpopular to the clubs and News limited if there for the good of the game.

I just can't think of one.

If the partnership board says no, there's SFA Gallop can do about it.

Earlier this year he all but announced that there'd be a 16th team. A few days later, after a few News Limited articles purporting the evils of expansion, he claimed he was 'misquoted'. The poor b*stard is stuck in the middle! He's hated by the ARL for being a news man and he's on the outer with News for occasionally having an opinion of his own!

Be intersting if the clubs wanted to push it, as a Board has to work for the good of the company not individual shareholders.
Trouble is the ARL looks after its own self interests too. Not the good of the game.

Like what? The expansion of the game into New Markets? The ARL has the goal of increasing general interest levels in the game. What's good for the ARL is good for the game in Australia in most instances these days...

Refusing to play on of the three SOO in another city.
Movement of all internationals off shore. What happened to the idea of playing uncompetive tests in the bush.

Abandoned during SuperLeague. Now that it's their only form of profit since the Peace treaty packaged SoO's TV rights into the NRL package, they need as much money as they can get their hands on to fund development officers. The money News Limited was apparently going to spend on WA after dumping the Reds never eventuated so now it has no presence...

You mean like the PNG match being played in townsville this year  .

Dropping of the 7s

During the Super League years, when SL had bought out every international federation under the sun and banished them from playing in ARL associated fixtures
