Clean out

The Time has come for the club to have a cleanout from the Boardroom down to some players. This is the 5th season we haven't made the playoffs that’s the longest run of all the 16 clubs in the NRL since 2004, all the other sides have made the finals at least once in the last 5 seasons except us.

We have one of the biggest Junior bases in the NRL yet we had one of our worst years in the lower grades Harold Matthews and SG Ball sides are usually are in the top 4 every year this they limped into the finals, Under 20s failed to make the 8, Reserve grade failed to make the 8 and last but not least first grade Failed, Is this all part of Mick Leary's 10 year plan?

Recruitment is another is another dead issue at Penrith The club can not seem to identify and keep talent Peter Wallace should never have left the club neither should Matthew Wright, Junior Tia Kilifi and Paul Aiton.Adam Woolnough would have to be the worst buy in Penrith's history it was common knowledge during 2007 that he had a serious neck injury that would hamper his career yet our management in its wisdom signed him up for three years on a heavy contract.

Negotiation Contracts at the club is another problem Peter Wallace and Junior Tia Kilfi should have both been signed up before the 2007 and 2009 season started both had impressed immensely in the lower grades and good judges (not at Penrith) had these two destined for bigger honours. And last but not least the handling of Paul Aiton contract was a disgrace he was offered less than what he was currently on and we made
to feel unwanted, watch him shine under Ricky Stuart next Year.

The Coach Elliott has proven time and time again that he can’t coach an Nrl side some of his team selections over the past three years have been baffling to say the least and as for his master game plans over the years they wouldn't trick a two year old.

The Players Elliott and Leary have moulded this squad are both to blame for it there are to many players alike Smith, Cooper, Blair we can only afford to have one of these players in the starting side not all three.
I can't wait to see our front row next year at this stage it's just Petero and Bell and the inconsistent Tim Grant.

You wouldn't run a business like this so why should we put up with second best all the time.

Elliott's game plan is condusive to what he he as a player. He also recruits players like himself. Plodders with no imagination.

Out Mick Leary - In Scott Longmuir or Grant Mayer
Out Matthew Elliott - In Michael Macguire
Out Wayne Collins, Steve Georgalis - In Steve Folkes
Out Craig Cullane - In Alex Melville

That would be a good start

i hate to break the news to you guys. But Elliott is 70% to blame .Lets not forget when i brought up last year our lower grades where doing well due to good coaching i got hammered on P1.Was told it was due to Elliott introducing his style of play through out the club all grades.Well that style adopted by all grades has us now missing out in all grades

Imediate changes needed but will not happen

Peter Mulholland re-hired and given complete control over all signings and controll of all sides from u20 down

Alex Melville re-hired and given Windsor with again full rights to change anything he wants with this side

now heres one from left field
new CEO Shannon Donatto currently in sponsorship i think he is ideally suited to the job

To be honest, the list of losses have gone on to do very little.

Our major problem is a lack of ability to attract players to the club and to recruit junior from places other than FOB city Penrith/Mt Druitt.

bottom line there are over 120 players without contracts for next year. You can not tell me there is not a few rising stars there. It is all about identification a area we are sadly lacking

Our talent scouts spend too much time having long lunches at the Colyton hotel copping quids for signing kids with fake birth certificates, fresh off the boat.

I think Jason Ryles and Michael Monaghan would be a step in the right direction...

Yeah but it's the ages that concerns me with most of them.

Wright 18, Isa 19, Tuigamala 21, JTK 21, Daniela 22. That's the problem on the way up not on the way down.

As I posted on PI. We need 1-2 Outside backs for NRL, Prop for NRL.
5-10 for NSW Cup. Players like Ndaira, Sullivan, Leaneo Decent players playing lower grades will come for the opportunity. 5 NYC Players.

The problem our recruitment is rubbish and lacks forsight. Other clubs would love to have our junior base to work with. Here's news Penrith WE NEED OTHER PLAYERS ASWELL. Go to country areas players play 1st grade at 16 surely they have a good head on their bodies to handle that

Country towns are the best breeding ground for young players. We should be actively recruiting in the country, but it would seem that the other clubs have the jump on us, as we rely on kids from St Clair and St Marys with fake birth certificates that come back to the field rapidly at age 18 (really 21 in island years).

Exactly Canberra has the perfect junior base The kids 17 or so play SG Ball it ends at round 10 go back to the boomdocks play 1st grade against hardened 30 yo men and improve as a player as a result
