Cleveland - The Streak

They've lost 21 games in a row, and apart from an OT win over the Knicks, have lost 31 of their last 32 games.

After a decent start to the season, their sh*tness over the last couple of months has been amazing.

Currently have the worst record in the league at 8-40. Have, by far, the worst points differential in the league at -11.8, which means their not just losing, their getting routinely hammered.

They're obviously hurt atm, which isn't helping the situation.

If they keep the streak going, their game against the Wizards on Feb 13th could be one for the ages.

Cavs with their impressive losing streak, and the Wizards who haven't won away from home this season yet. Hopefully both teams can keep their respective streaks going until that game. Would be epic.

No Varejao has really hurt them

Yeah, in more ways than one. Not only was he arguably their best player, but he was also their most attractive trade piece. Him going down really hurt Cleveland's chances of making any deals.

What's the NBA record?

9-73 by the 1972-73 Sixers.

So at least the Cavs won't beat that.

It's more how awful they've been over the last couple of months. To lose 31 of your last 32 games is epically bad. Funnily enough they started the season alright enough.

Bit of history made today.

Cavs extended the streak to 23 (with a loss against the Grizzlies), and in the process tied the 95-96 Grizzlies for the longest single-season losing streak in NBA history.

They can make the record their own with a loss aginst the Blazers tomorrow.

If it weren't for the ego money grabber they'd have been the same garbage franchise they are this year for the last 7.

They have a side streak going which I think is up to 33 or 34 regulation time games without a win.

They must have a boat load of cash for this off season. What other biggish names are free agents or restricted at the end of this season apart from Melo?

EDIT- Just found a list. Al Horford is restricted, Tyson Chandler, Dunleavy Jr might be a reasonable pick up, Zach Randolph, Troy Murphy, Wilson Chandler is restricted but if the Knicks get Melo then they'll probably not match an offer for him and he could be a good guy to build a team around and maybe Jeff Green.

Yeah it's only an overtime win over the Knicks thats preventing this from being well into the 30s.
