Barry Toohey reports in today's Sunday Tele column that Penrith forward Clint Newton has been linked with a return to Newcastle. I personally think he should go, his a waste and to old but brent kite comes in next year and will takes his place.

There are not too many 'big names' left on the market but still plenty of up and coming talent which will surely be those who will be drafted in.

I'm happy with where we are heading and I think the signings of Soward, Kite and Taylor are all very astute signings and only need to be enhanced by another outside back and half and our top 25 will be looking pretty good for 2014. We surely can't have another season of bad luck with injuries like we have experienced in last couple of seasons. I think in 2014 if we have a relatively injury free run, then look out as I can definitely see us finishing in the top 8 for sure.

I dont know why people have to give Newton such a hard time. He has done his best, is a good ambassador for the club, someone who sponsors are happy to be represented by. He is an experienced player who is teaching the younger players what it takes to make it in first grade. Sure, he is in his twilight years but we are lucky to have him come and fill in for a few years.

While a long way from a superstar I think Newton has earned his pay with us. It was funny to see him offload for Walshy to get smashed on the weekend. A little bit of payback.

Lol very good, although he seems very popular with the players, I think he is the Players delegate for their union.

I would not be adverse to him being involved with the club in some off field capacity, has all the right attributes with the sponsors and public, very professional with his behavior, etc.

Perhaps he could do something with the American Rugby League development, since he's American and can represent the Tomahawks. Could be a good way to snare up and coming Americans to the Panthers?
