Nice to at least hear a statement.
Accountability??

Maybe they are listening after all.

Good to see our employed club staff are actually proactively communicating with the media and fans (albeit through a website), instead of sitting back and thereby creating the atmosphere where media conjecture runs rife and no-one's the wiser to the detriment of the club and code.

The statement may not say anything, but at least the club position and actions to date can now be quoted in articles, which gives (us? the paying fans? the public in general?) the sense of strength and confidence in our adminstration.

I wouldnt call it proactive when it comes out after a story.

Sacking Fui would be a terrible mistake, however it may be a way to a means for something else...

TBH my feeling is, what's the point of an absolute nothing statement? just decide what u are gonna do an then make a statement ... no one's gonna die waiting a couple more days

Well, I'm not too sure what kind of release they could have made until after they had a meeting

Calling it proactive media management is a bit of a stretch when the first official statement comes out after the story has broken.

At nearly 5pm the day the story broke.

Pro active media management would have been having a statement out in time for breakfast radio, well after the first issues of the paper were out.

Yeah I guess. Just not sure what it could have said at that point.

A decision can't be revealed until after the decision is made on the 23rd. On the balcony of Sterlo's bar. We decide what to do and then tell the board. Isn't that how it works now?

I called it proactive communication... which relative to what we're used to, then it is.

I wouldn't dream of thinking our club is capable of something called proactive media management, not in the fan relations stone age which it seems that our club management operates in (relative to other NRL clubs).

what could they say? Depends

I wonder what came first, the tele article or the meeting with the manager?

was the manager previously contacted when Fui wasnt at training?

As it stands they havent said much anyway other than we've spoken and we'll think about it for a few days.

I just dont get the whole patting them on the back for doing their job business.

Fair enough, I still dont see it as that proactive as it is bleeding obvious

Hey, I just try to give them a wrap from time to time

Did I miss there being some quality prop out there unsigned and/or on the market, just waiting to wear the blue and gold if only we could fit him under the salary cap?

:sarcasm: Didn't think so.
