Bird did not play the best but seriously did he have to? He kept getting picked regardless. It will be different under a coach who has won a comp. Bird at his best is a pretty special player. If he is half as good as his best he will be better than alot of other players out there. Lets hope Flanno can sort him out. Bird is playing for a contract so cannot afford to have another bad year as we saw when he tested the market last year he did not have many takers bar Parra on a very reduced contract.

Agree
I always had a soft spot for him and was gutted when he left for the gummies and played there like a champ
I do hope he can regain some of that form under Flanno

Bird might hobble and crab his way for another year, hopefully in reserve grade or only off the bench when were down on back rowers hopefully, he can fill some gaps until the young gun forwards start making an impact in about a season, and an impact they will!!
Bird is a block to our future success. Have Bird attend a medical and fitness test and if he passes, then have him accountable for his work on the field. If he fails these tests then cancel his contract.

Hunt and the word create dont go hand in hand. Go on have another sook because we did not snare our two prime targets so we will continue to lose games. And we all know how you 'hate to lose'. The BOD will tire of your whinging eventually and send you packing before '25.
I know you don't like Hunt, but saying he can't create is so wrong. I know you love your stats, so, why is Ben Hunt 9th in the comp for try assists if he can't create? Also creates for himself with his running game, the chip and chase in our last game of the season was another great creative play. The blind hatred for Hunt needs to stop, he's undeniably a good player.

My predictions for 2024:
1. Liddle promised a lot as a youngster, but never fulfilled. This will be his year.
2. M Molo has improved a lot since he joined 2 years ago. This should be his breakout year.
3. Allen to play FB because of his defense and Sloane moved to Wing where he has the potential to become one of the great wingers
4. Toby Couchman to become a permanent first grader and in a year or two break into NSW State of Origin side (he reminds me of Boyd Cordner)
5. Sadly, This maybe the final year for Bird and BMM. I think the old work horses will either decide to retire or move to super league to get a couple of years more from their ageing bodies.

I think he creates better when playing in the hooker positon.

Betting two thirds of those TA stats are from grubbers or bombs, not from ball in hand, to which I am referring. He is, has never been a natural organiser. He puts more guys into hospital than into gaps.
He certainly is no game manager, that has been proven time and time again. Classic example watch the Broncos Dragons game this season and watch Reynolds compared to Hunt especially in the second half.

I just read that Amone can possibly apply to come back to the NRL after 12 months. Gee I hope the Allen signing for 12 months isn't to let Amone back in.
We really need the Amone issue behind us, I have read a two yr min ban while he serves his sentence & I have heard a min of 12months. The NRL are spineless they should be announcing the deregistration & also stipulating the minimum time they would consider when to register him again. If it is subject to an appeal say that but based on the current facts the ban will be a minimum of xx

The judiciary of this state kept the door open for Amone to resume his career with the club that nurtured him, why then couldnt the NRL follow suit and ban him for 12 months instead of rubbing him out and leaving his career and life in limbo. Credit to the kid for not contesting the dereg, copped it on the chin. Perhaps now a touch of remorse, or regret or a sign of maturity?

Just saw him on the news, training with Roger Fabri and maintains his innocence… wonder what he claims happened then. Unless he’s saying the tradie is making it up?

I heard that the NRL won't let him in until he at least completes his 300 hrs community service which is a fair call I suppose. If he does serve his 2 years then there is no reason why he should not be allowed back into the NRL.

Gus is having a secret coffee with him now. It will be announced shortly. Amone to the Dogs from 2026, 3 year deal. Dogs seem to love Saints rejects.
