Cold Chisel Drummer Passes Away

RIP Steve.

I wasn't a big Chsel fan but my favourite Chisel song was Forever Now which he wrote. I loved him in the clip drumming on the kitchen table then throwing his sticks away with a look of complete and utter detachment just before the drumming on the track finished.

I love his snare work. The sound he got out of the kit was distinctly Chisel...one of the good things about their sound, and im not a huge Chisel fan. But I appreciate real musicianship and he and Mossy had tonnes of it.

Like Stew Copeland from he Police. Didnt like their music, but the guy could play drums and made that Police back beat and sound. A master of his craft.

They were rumoured for the Sound Relief 2011, so that probably means they may not do the show now.

They had a studio album done as well. Steve was only diagnosed 10 days ago.
You are generally in trouble with brain tumours, my grandpa passed away two months after being diagnosed last year, even then ten days is a very quick time. Did he have any other form of cancer, because they often form as secondary's to others (eg you can miss a melanoma and end up with secondary's on the brain).

Pretty sad, RIP

Way too young.

Rage showed some Cold Chisel stuff in tribute. Started with a recording of a gig they played at the Manly Vale Hotel in 1980
